New To Foil Kites

I am new to foil kites and would love any feedback on some what to do and what not to do's. I have just purchased a HQ symphony 2.2 and had a blast the first time i flew it at cannon beach OR. i did notice that unlike my stunt kite which i know is allot smaller, it was smoother to control but turned slower(which is no big deal). i do plan in the future to get a bigger but for now i will start out small:cool:

Hey fellow Oregonian:

There's lots of great information on this site that you should read, but I've got an additional idea for you.

Next time you're heading to the coast, drive up about 12 miles further north, past Seaside, up to Sunset Beach (about halfway between Seaside and Astoria) It is THE N.W. Mecca for traction kites if there ever was one. There are number of avid kiters out on the beach throughout the spring/ summer/ fall. Most of us are more than happy to give you some first-hand help with technique.

Next time you're heading over, post something to let me know, and I'll be out there. I've got several kites that I usually bring out, so if you're interested in trying out some buggies, boards, or more powerful varieties of kites, we can do that too.

Hope to hear from you!!

Bucky,
I'll be out there all next week. I'm bringing my MBS comp 16 and all my foils. My latest is the Ozone Frenzy 7 m I've flown the foils lots and jumped a bit, but I haven't ridden the board much 'cause I live inland. It can get a dit dangerous in gusty winds.

Cool!!!

Take the Sunset Beach exit off of hwy 101 (about 5 miles past Seaside, next to the golf course) once you're down on the beach, look up in the sky you'll probably see some some kites if there's any decent wind (generally, we're just north of the exit). Look for an older model Ford Explorer (silver/grey).

Hope to see you there..
