Glove recommendations
I am sure this will be a highly subjective one.. What gloves do most of you use for flying? Handles/bar, buggy/board.
I am not going to be in water, but may have damp/wet hands since I do live in WA...
I noticed in a few videos people wearing super thick heavy leather workgloves, not sure I want something that bulky.
I thought cycling gloves, but I do not need the padding in palm they offer, and most are not full finger. I noticed sailing gloves @ westmarine
yesterday, 3/4 and full finger.. I have also seen the basic mechanics gloves..
Any other ideas or gloves you recommend?

Those full finger ones they make for Mtb or just Std cycling ones?
I have a set of my old Cycling gloves but they are short finger and bunch up right under my 1st knuckle pretty bad..

I used the full finger cycling gloves. they fit perfect, so i don't have a problem with them bunching up. I bought a new pair of sixsixone gloves
that i loved but they were one size too big and they kept bunching up in the palm, so i had to go back to my old ones
I like to go to dirt bike stores and motorcycle stores because they have the best selection of gloves. from now on i try them before i buy them.
gloves are great for those long days of riding so you don't get blisters on your hands.

Yeah I have large hands. Typically even XL gloves are short in the fingers so I have to test fit all gloves..

They also make a Medium Weight.

I use motocross gloves. Tight fit, extra padding on entire palm and fingers. Todays motocross gloves have extra sticky spots on the fingertips for
extra grip. They also have impact armor on back of gloves to help absorb incidental contacts with hard objects.

I'd go full fingered.
On my first real wipeout i hacked the tips of my fingertips off.

Scrubbing the half inch deep gashes and thrashed muscle tissue was far more painful.
2-3 weeks out of the game and losing all my strength I had gained mountaineering was a far deadlier blow to my pride/habits.
Nothing to be proud about.

I really like Nitrile Gloves. Like the ones made by Atlas plus many knock-offs.
They are very thin, very tough, and very "grippy". Great feel/dexterity - you can pick up a coin while wearing them. Any good hardware store, lumber
store should have them.
A bonus is the back is fabric thus allowing them to breathe.

3/4 finger sailing gloves from West Marine. Angus taught me that the open fingertips allow you to work with larksheads, and tangles with your
fingertips while the rest of your hands are protected. I went to West Marine and tried them all on and noticed that I had picked the same model that
Angus had. I've never wanted for anything more in gloves.

Bob,
Any idea Mfg or model those were, looks like Westmarine has quite a few 3/4. I also saw some full finger that had just the tip of the pointer finger
open.. That looks very interesting...:bigok:

I use the "That's Cool Man" from a colorado company NOVIK. They definitely live up to the name, I'm a sweaty guy and these gloves do a better job than
all my others for keepin my hands fresh. They are designed for moto-x, and they are holding up great!

the sail gloves are my choice as well. they can be worn backwards when the palm blows the mesh may even be better.
decent leather gloves at the hardware store. all natural full grain really can take some heat .
ronstan are by far the better glove . WM kinda all we have here and seem light.

I also use the nitrile gloves for work everyday and find they are excellent for kiting as well. Good grip and dexterity and if I'm scooping sand on
to the kite at the beach, they wipe clean pretty quickly. They wouldn't offer much in the way protection against 'rope' burn....
If it's cold, I use a pair of leather palmed workmaster gloves . Similar to these:
