I have never had the opportunity to fly on a Navi..... I have a 53cm Griffin that is a Y line bar that I use on some of my other arcs (none are
chargers)......
I am a rookie when it comes to flying arcs but so far I have found if you can trim it, depower it and steer it.... your good to go......

I have not taken this to what I have been told is its top end.
I have also only have had static and buggy sessions on it so I can not speak to its performance on a board. But it is a Charger...... and it's an
arc.....
With wind of 20mph it will get you rolling very well on a grassy field in a buggy.
I would say the wind range on this kite is about 15mph to 35mph I would have to check the PL website for the exact numbers...... but that is close.
I'm sorry, I have to disagree about the Navi/'07 comparison.
Bob's is right, the kite doesn't know or care which bar it is on BUT You get more out of a Charger on the Navi bar. It will fly on the '07 but with
a reduced depow range and always in a slight state of power up akin to having the bar pulled in. ANy 4 line bar will work on any 4 line kite but not
all bars work WELL with all kites.
I've flown on both and it's noticeable. My friend Mike flies my old 15mCH on his '07 and he definately has less wind range than I do when were both
out on our 15m Chs..
The '07 can be modded with a longer trim set up and throw and you'd get the same performance as the Navi, but bone stock the Navi works much better.
Not trying to sabotage any sales here. This is still a really good deal either way but i just wanted to clarify based on my expiriences.

I haven't met a PL bar that I couldn't modify yet. I used to change the centerline of my PL bars so they had 18+" of throw back when everyone swore
you shouldn't have more than 4-5" (my long arms made this mod a necessity and it gave me tons more depower as a side benefit).
BK is right, you can mod the hell out of the bars. Back in the day it was believed that you couldn't more than a few inches of throw but a lot of
people were doing it and having kickass results. Markite posted something, somewhere, years ago about long throw on PL kites and how it's worked for
him and and others and inspired us to give it a try.
And now the Navi has long throw. That coupled with the CLam CLeat gives a ton of wind range on whatever ARC you fly.
Again, I'm not trying to come down on anyone, I was just responding to the statements concerning '07 vs. NAvi on the Charger. The '07 will work but
to get the most out of the wing it would have to be modded for longer throw which isn't a huge deal.
My intention was not to pressure anyone in anyway. If that's how it came across I seriously apologize.

I felt no pressure or anything.... it was all good info for everyone..... I think this PL bar is the only one I own that was bone stock...... except
that I had a 27m Line set with 3m extensions for flying the 8m Charger on it.......
I learned early on from BK and Kami's thread's, along with others, about mod'ing bars...... I have another frankenbar in the works......
I had an offer on the bar only that I could not resist even though I had posted I wouldn't split the RTF package.......

Feyd I really value your opinion and experience so I have a question. I rarely use the full range of the bar when riding in the buggy. I usually
adjust my trim for conditions so that the "riding position" of the bar is in a comfortable position usually about 2/3rds of the way down the center
line, and then have plenty of depower (I thought) if I let the bar out. 1. Should I be doing this differently? and 2. What would the benefit of the
navi be for me, considering how I normally ride? Now that I think about it, I'm using a bar I modded to have longer throw, about 3 more inches.

No doubt you can use any 4 line bar setup. I've got my 13m Scop. flying on a slingshot turbo bar with the little pulleys on the steering lines at the
floats. It gives a 1" bar pull = 2" line pull , talk about bar pressure. the bar pulls so hard I cant even bottom it out against the CL.
I'm going to try the 1:1 setup but my bar is so short I may not get enough steering line movement to really crank it.
Like any of this stuff its "what are you getting and what are you giving up"

Bob,
What does this mean "2/3rds down the bar"?
When I cruise in the bug I adjust the trim so that with the bar rests on the stopper while the kite is just shy of stall and the buggy is just shy of
a slide--whichever comes first. I set this adjustment at speed. I then fly the kite with only my near hand on the bar.
This kind of flying is effortless, the kite flies straight with minimal input, your arms don't get tired, and you go fast. That's my recipe for a
good time.

I've never ridden a buggy but I understand pbc's description. For me, here in the mountains and on the ice, I rarely have the opportunity to set the
kite and cruise. Watch one of my videos and see the bar action. I'm constantly dealing with wind variations or surface variations.
On the rare smooth days it is nice to set the bar, lock the stopper and cruise tho. The thing about the Navi that I like, in addition to the huge
depow range is the way you can set the power range and the throw/reach. Ex: I can trim it out slightly, pull in the bar and lock the stopper. This
will give me about est. 80% of my total Navi pow/depow range and allow me to run the bar closer. Also you can mix the trim setting/stopper combo to
get more back line tension to get the kite turn rate up or other things. The Navi really allows for a lot of personalization. I'm not going back to
anything else that's for sure.
Bob, if you have a modded bar with a longer throw then you have what IMO is the primary benefit of the Navi bar. As far as what you're doing with you
settings I'd say you must be doing something right if it's working for you and you're happy! Like I said I don't have any buggy expirience so I can't
say if what you're doing would be different than what I'd do.
Your description of bar position initially seemed odd until you mentioned the modded throw. Sounds like it works for you tho!

With all the grip available at Ivanpah, I can't gauge the kite trim based on when my tires slip. I have to feel that trim level/bar position that is
giving me max power from the kite and buggy speed, without choking it by pulling in the bar 1 more inch. Having the stopper to lock in place and take
away the bar pull would be a nice benefit worth reworking my bar to have double center lines with a stopper. I corrected my post above to reflect
that I was talking about pulling the bar down 2/3rds of its throw for my steady state riding position.

I was flying at the inland grass field I use here in Gainesville today. It's much harder to leave the bar on the stopper all the time when you have
to deal with the wind variations caused by tree lines and the usual inland gustiness.
On shore winds at the beach are so much better for cruising at speed. I should share that one of the reasons I use the bar-on-stopper method at the
beach is for speed. When I hold the bar in my hands the kite is subtly shifting off the sweet spot all the time and I fall behind the pack. When I
put the bar on the stopper the kite flies true, stays in a better position and I go faster.
Trimming the kite to the perfect spot is tricky, but it's worth the effort. It would be easier with a movable stopper, but it's not required by any
stretch.
