Stainless Steel Ring Source

Looking for a stainless steel ring source to get some rings similar to those on the trailing edge lines of a PL 07 bar.....

Thanks in advance.....

Size?

I was recently at Lowes :o and saw some seamless stainless steel rings. Heaven only knows what they are for.... apparently they like kite pilots ;-)

Other notable sources include:
  • West Marine or similar boating supply store.

  • Your local NSI Dealer who sells stainless steel rings in two sizes (Small is 7/8" wide and the Large is 1 3/8") as kite leash components.
You can also do Titanium, just because it's oh so sexy.

Hope that helps.

ATB,
Sam

Yes I've always bought mine at West Marine. I bought some at Ace hardware but they were just spot welded instead of all the way through. As a test I bent it a bit with pliers and the weld broke easily. Pay the extra for full welded rings.

If it's welded all the way around or through it should be good to go. the one I bent had a tack weld on one spot. It didn't pass my test.

Hey that half ring is over 3 inches in diameter! It looks nice but a 3/4 - 1" ring is plenty big.

I got my stainless rings from these guys: http://store.ryansproducts.com/rings2.html

No failures yet although the real test will be on the new bar where I am I using a 1/2" ID-ring as the vertex in a Y-line rig. It's my faux-navigator rig.

I kind of expect the ring to stretch, but I just have to try it.
