im thinking about maybe, possibly taking the plung into kiteboarding(im going to tell my wife it was van who made me do it). i know powerkiteforum isnt the only forum but i live in oklahoma city which forum do you recommend for my area. i know the smart thing is to take lessons. i do not have the money for the lessons i have seen or the time to drive to the "schools." i am hoping someone will take pitty on me and maybe teach me. lol. im thinking about getting a ozone uno. (thanks alot mr. wolf my wife will most definatly be lloking for you). anyways thanks for helping. im an avid buggier love the bug but im wanting more air and something to do in the blistering summers.

i would start first by making sure you have an accessible lake at your disposal. One with an area to rig up, free of hazards.

Look for good wind flow, free of disruption from buildings trees ect...

You will learn a lot from the locals. Bring beer. That usually works.
Get a good wetsuit so the water temperature is a non issue and start body dragging. Lessons and Progression videos were helpful for me along with persistence.

See I have heard of body dragging figured that is where to start. TO YOUTUBE.

***EDIT***
I went to Youtube and found a small video very helpful. PROGRESSION or something like that. Anyways that is what I had pictured. Use arm and body in the water provides the resistance to move upwind. OK now I know where to start. Now all I need is beer and luck in finding someone to help.

Mood: Need a kiting fix...asap

I would really suggest getting some lessons, it will get you riding a lot faster. There are guys at some of the spots around me who have been kiting for years and still can't get up wind. All they need is a good lesson and they would have a much better kiting experience.

Get lessons. Water is not something to take lightly. They will also advise you on which kit to buy.
