Simple pack layout for carrying kites
My flysurfer bag came in rather poor shape, and I've been kind of actively mulling about a comfortable day/barebones over-night pack I could carry two
kites in.
My requirements came to something like
I would have to LIKE it in the mountains
I could compress the kites(17/9.5m) well enough to additionally carry a biv-sac and a little gear if I had to go spartan.
The skis+ gear weight would distribute well enough to let me climb
So I got on and on about it until I thought about mountain gliders; I mean, a pack like that is certainly qualifiable with fabric capacity, and the
more demanding logistical necessities.
I don't consider the search OVER, but I think I found something that might work REALLY well for my concerns.
I'd like to know what other people think about it.
I like the 50L ALOT, but I'm unsure if that is enough space. I could compression sack the kites, and make do with 1 bar for both.
50L

110L
http://nervures.co.uk/products/bags/bivouac-bag/
They both come out around my budget, I'm looking for something I can get a little alpine with; but nothing TOO serious.
The dealbreaker is the amount of space. Which is too much, and which too little?

Gin kite bags are very well thought out and the Yeti Paraglider bag you posted is very similar looking to their Eskimo III ktie bag.
Tons of straps, pockets, support, etc..
The only problem I have with them, and it is a problem, is that they tend to make their bags small for the intended kite. They've improved a bit with
proper sizing for kite and bag combos for the Yeti (kite) but I challenge anyone to easily pack a 10m Eskimo III in the bag it came in. So while I
endorse and highly recommend their products I'd be a little suspect of what they say will fit in the bag based on the ease / difficulty of packing an
object of that size.
Depower Quiver: 14m Gin Eskimo, 10m Gin Eskimo III, 6m Gin Yeti, 4.5m Gin Yeti (custom bridle and mixer)
Fixed Bridle Quiver: MAC Bego 400, JOJO ET Instinct 2.5 & 5.5, Lil Devil 1.5, Sting 1.2

Well,
Out in the wilderness potentilly camping? I would lean heavily to the larger rig. It will let you carry more survival and safety gear, you just
never know what can happen in a few hours out in the woods...
Is the 110 really that much bigger? (obviously the numbers are but the packs do not "look" it.) Pictures can be deceiving, but they sure look to be
about the same physical size and weight empty? Makes me wonder if one is measureing a different way to show being larger? How about the features,
will one do a better job carrying your ski's etc? Both look REALLY nice.

just to give you another idea as to size the 50 liter is the equivalent of 12.5 gallons whihc is the same as 2 and 1/2 of those 5 gallon water jus
that you see on the office coolers and such- should be plenty big enough i would think

I've had my eyes on a peter lynn pro bag for quite a while now. Reviews are solid, the only issue I might have is that I'm a bit vertically challenged
so the bottom of the bag might drag on the ground:frog:

What is the recommended sizing for the kite compression bags?
I might replace my 17m with a 12m later this season; at-least then I'll have less to worry about with space.

Let us know what you decide to go with and how well it works. I've been looking at snowboard packs that can fit a couple kits.
