NABX: Day 1

What a day, left Las Vegas at 0700 hours, it was raining when I left home and continued to rain until I got to Jean NV. I arrived at Ivanpah's gate at 0800 hours. No one around to tell me other wise, I rode out to Buggy Town making sure to stay on the road.

After I got off the lake, someone put up some yellow caution tape and a card board sign informing everyone that the lake was not going to be bugged today; Wish I had arrived after the tape and not before. Never will I do that again, had to clean mud from my pickup for 3 days.

A half dozen of us went over to Roach, it was dry, the buggy's were flying. Every one was using an 2 meter or so kite. After about an solid hour of speeding around Roach, it was break time and time to swith to a small metered kite. The winds were 15 gusting to 20.

Someone can post tomorrow's data, I won't be back to NABX until Fri.

Be there or be square!

At Last! I finally found out who made the tracks. Please folks, DO NOT RIDE IN THE RUTS! Do not ride on the old road.

So sorry if we didn't make this clear, but this road was a mistake on the BLM's part. They have now admitted that, and pulled up the markers that delineated the road.

The idea is to spread out our track. Stay lake side and you'll be fine. Never, never go through mud. If you can't get out without going through mud, turn around. If stuck on the lake, you can get off via the edge in the gravel.

All that said, the rest of the week should be fine, and Tigger, please, come say hi to me!

I know you will be on the lake Friday, my son-in-law and I will be there on Friday morning about 0800 - 0830. I hope someone is awake by then. I met a whole bunch of folks on Tuesday, and in spite of the rain and cold weather I still managed to get my bald head a bit burned. The car wash people told me that I am never to come back to them again. I recon' they have got no sense of humor when it comes to washing the playa off the bottom of an vehicle. I am looking forward to meeting you Deano, I hope your everything everyone said you were.
