Question for flysurfer owners

A few days ago, I picked up a used Pulse2 14M from a fellow PKFer, I flew it for the second time the other day, and it flies great! This kite pulls like a truck and I can't wait for snow! Anyway, when putting it away, i noticed on one of the short sections of bridle that has 2 pulleys running along it, part of the "mixer" i think... has a couple of slightly frayed spots in it. Flysurfer owners, you probably are familiar with this part of the bridle, it is about 16 inches long. The front and back lines are not connected directly to this. What i am wondering is how much load is on this part of the bridle when in use, and do i need to think about replacing it? The fraying is not bad, but it does look like the outer part of the sheath of the cord is frayed and fuzzy; the 2 worn spots are about a half inch apart. The corresponding bridle line on the opposite side of the kite is fine. The kite has seen a bit of use, but everything else looks good, the bridling and lines just don't have that "new" look to them anymore. Is this something i should address soon or should it be fine? I could post a pic of it if that would help. Thanks!

Can you post a pic?
Sometimes the fraying on those lines is very superficial. I've seen lines last quite some time before going, but it never hurts to take a look.
Replacing those lines is fairly simple, and might be in the repair kit if you need to do that...

Check the pulley. If it spins with friction, the pulley might be worn enough to cause wear on the line. John (at PowerZone Kitesports) replaced the pulleys and the lines that go through them on the Pulse 10m that I purchased from Tridude.

My lines were also frayed and fuzzy which John attributed to abrading over the old pulleys instead of rolling over the pulleys as Flysurfer intended for them to do.

John is very reasonable on his tune-up fee. He can also install the mixer ball upgrade for your Pulse2 which I had installed on mine upon Tridude's (and John's) recommendation. The upgrade and tune-up from John made a remarkable difference in my Pulse. It felt like a whole new kite, in fact.

The pulley line is called the "spare parts line" for some reason. I replaced mine from PZ on my 10M P1.

I also can absolutely recommend PowerZone for a flysurfer tune up.

They're called "spare parts line" cos they wear and need to be changed :D I'd change that myself ... but I'm paranoid. You can either order direct from Flysurfer (their customer service is pretty good!) or get one from John at powerzonekitesports.com - also great customer service  and IIRC he uses line that is much less prone to stretch and lasts better ... take your pick ;)

Changing them ... is supposed to be easy :o

Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

Well, i don't have any spare parts with the kite, and changing it does NOT look easy, at least not in my opinion. I'm sure i could get it apart, but getting it back together correctly and still adjusted looks like it would be the tricky part. I'm thinking this kite needs to make a visit to powerzonekitesports.

thanks everyone!
