La Pesca
Just thought I'd throw this out after another DBBB.
Dreaming of La Pesca again. Best buggy location I have ever been to or seen pictures of. Couple hour drive south of Brownsville/Matamoros.
Hotel on a beautiful river, dry flats to buggy in two blocks away (that range from fairly narrow to at least a mile wild). Fresh seafood and a warm,
friendly location.
Here's where I walked to and launched my kites from near the hotel.
23°47'17.12"N
97°46'17.06"W
Cross the border at sunrise and be cruising the flats in the afternoon. Smooth flat hard sand tidal flat that goes for miles and miles. Anyone
else even remotely interested????
(passport and vehicle insurance required to drive)
Cheap hotels are available, but here's the one I stayed at that is literally two blocks from the kite launch and has a better rate than most in the
US. (plus it's in its own compound and gives a nice safe feeling).
What do you do with your foils?
Charger 8, 12, 19
Scorpion 10, 16
And other foils...
Flexifoil Bug, CrazyFly board, MBS atb

I went in the spring once before. Summer is best, but hotter. Would be best if anyone's interested if we could time it when our buggier's down
south could attend as well. I'm just seeing if anyone else would be interested in driving besides me.

The border is ok at that point... San Fernando has a history, but the meat served at the road side meat market there was excellant. Early morning
travel in a group is best. Every buggy spot has it's risks. Crossing over six inch ropes every so many miles with machine gun embankments and guards
with machine guns just makes the flat, smooth hardpacked sand that much more enjoyable when you get there, along with the dried shrimp and grilled
oysters.
Just wanted to make sure you know what type road trip you are asking about.
