Question about jumping while snowkiting
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUiPzw9L_tM&feature=relat...
If you look at this video I was just wondering... After he goes off the edge does he just keep the kite going left to right over his head? And when he
lands how does he turn his body around like that? Does he just kinda kick himself around?
And what do you guys do with the kite when you get big air like that? And how do you land?

He is moving downhill and gains enough speed to simply move away from the slope. After he lands, he does a large toeside turn to move around and head
the other direction just before the video cuts out.
Hope that answers your question.
Also, if you want to embed youtube here, you only need the video ID, in this case kUiPzw9L_tM, with {youtube}kUiPzw9L_tM{/youtube} but obviously with
square brackets instead.
Tide? What's a tide? Man, it's 1000 miles to any ocean.

Great big kite ... he's just gliding under it. It'll provide enough lift for him to land gently without working it to soften the touch-down. Yes, he's
flying backwards :o
At the end there, he shifts the kite from overhead to his LHS so it pulls him to the left ... and he can ride off "normally" :wee:
Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

This guy used speed and terrain to set himself up to glide as much as jump.
I think you are asking if you need to direct and redirect the kite to jump off flat land. YES .
As you cut upwind send the kite in the opposite direction once loaded up you pull in the bar, pop, and redirect the kite overhead. As you land bring
the kite down in your direction of travel to ride away with smooth power.
Long hang time like that requires constant redirecting to keep the kite overhead.
