Garmin Etrex and foretrex are by far the most commonly used in the sport. With 2, you would have high credibility on a record run.

See I was looking at the fortrex but man there price for what they are is kinda out there at least from there site I really haven't looked to much. My
old garmin isn't that accurate. I think Its accurate to like 100 feet. Although a few times it has been slightly better maybe around 70 feet. I'm
thinking about borrowing my wires phone and using its gps but then she would be without her phone while I was on the playa. I do like the

This may be the route I go. I could buy used and take the chance that it won't be a complete piece of garbage.

Depending on the phone and app, GPS is known to be wildly inaccurate on some of those set-ups. Lots of funny horror stories on the smartphone forums.
For confirmation/redunancy, the Fortex seemed like overkill.
I was thinking you could run you primary GPS on the downtube and run the redundant ones on a cross-bar behind the seat (yeah.... spend too much time
thinking about this kind of stuff).
$84 per gps is not bad and is almost 2 for 1 compared to some of the Foretrex models.
If you are looking used, you might consider lurking on some of the geocaching forums as they probably offload stuff the same as people do on PKF when
upgrading gear.
