PhantomII demo roadtrip! (update please read!!!)

We just heard from Peter Lynn today and its not looking good. They are working hard with the factory to get the phantoms finished on time. Unfortunatly they will not make it to the US on time for the demo trip. Sorry dudes I am dissapointed and i'm sorry if you are dissapointed as well. They are trying to throw their weight around with the factory to get them out in time. There may be a 5% chance that they will make it but i'm not getting my hopes up.

The LEI kites should still show up in time on friday or saturday. So If you are coming out to try the tubes you should still get that chance. I just wanted to post if you are planning on spending time and money to get to jekyll to try the phantoms. We are still working hard to get as much as possible. You are still welcome to come and ride if you just wanted to get out in the wind. I hope to see you all there, and I'm very sorry about the phantoms, but the factory is in china and not in holland so it's difficult.

It's finally that time. How many of you would like to demo the new phantoms lei's and fixed bridle kites?

Friday and Saturday March 23, 24th. Flyguy0101 and I will be on Jekyll Island with peter lynn demo kites. It'll be a fun couple of days on a beach after those crappy winter months.

We are meeting up with Coastalwindsports (Angus) and are wanting you guys to help us build some hype on the new peter lynn products. Come out, bring your buggy, bring your landboard, and be ready to ride the waves. We should have a range of kites with us for you to test out.

We will have kites ranging from reactorIIs, escape, fury, twisterIIR, and of course the new phantoms!

Scott and I will of course keep you guys updated on exactly the model of kites and sizes they will be sending us as soon as we get them in.

We will also be offering a demonstration on how to tune up your twinskin kites as well as a few lessons and riding tips! Come out and ride with us.

Also Sunday March 25th we plan on being at Sullivan's island for those of you that are closer.

Are you as stoked as we are? Be the first to test the new kites!

I hope to see you all on Jekyll, or Sullivan's Island! Adam.

tri,
Absouletly can take pics and vid- looking forward to seeing you guys. I am really interested in getting some feedback from you guys regarding the LEIs as well. Dont remember the tide schedule exactly, but i think low tide on friday somewhere around 2-2:30 and add 45 minutes for Saturday. Question for you- we are hoping to ride sullivan island on Sunday can you tell me where to look for tide as well will we be able to ride landboars or is sulys really better for water? Maybe i will need to borrow your door and try out a fury myself- if i do that what type of suit- assuming bareback is not an option and can always bring my drysuit.

Well we most likely won't be up there during that week unless the planets align perfectly and we get perfect on shore wind. Unfortunatly the low tide is too short of time compared to the tides down at jekyll :dunno: But i guess nothing is impossible

Thought I would bump this with a little note about my "warm up" session today. Had a chance to ride in the va Mtn gusts. Wind started in the low 20s with gust to the mid 30s then started mellowing to the teens with gusts to mid 20s. Was able to get a couple of little jumps 5-6 ft and several big static jumps. Nothing beats the chelaxed feeling after a couple hrs of tight lines. Can't wait for the hard pack smooth sand and clean wind.

I will attempt to make the trip to Sullivan's Island. I am about to get a PL Hornet II 6m this week! I still don't have a landboard though, but I am in the market. I am pretty new to kiting, but I am getting there!
I look forward to meeting some of the SC crew. I get to Charleston on a semi-regular basis. Watching a guy landboarding last month on Holley Beach was the tipping point for me to start getting into larger kites.

This is looking to be great. I have my pre-orders for Phanny II's in and I don't know about delivery but these guys will deliver for sure.

Jekyll Island is looking great. The convention center is complete ahead of time and under budget. I mention this just because there are no more traffic detours so it is easy to get to the beach.

I am also summoning all local riders.

For further hotel info, look at the JIBE site...
