New to NABX

New Guy here! Just put my registration in to join you all on the Playa. I must say I am stoked to say the least. I feel like I have been looking forward to heading to this event since I first heard of it a couple years ago. I am a buggy guy and I have been learning on my own since i bought my first kite a couple of years ago. So, I am looking forward to meeting lots of like-minded people...learning a bunch...and playing together. I am sure I will have lots of questions before, during and after the event. I am SO looking forward to this!!

You will learn SO much. It is a learning experience just to ride with others. Add to that riding at Ivanpah and school is in session. Way more fun than 4th grade though. You will have a blast and enjoy the company of the nicest most friendly and helpful bunch you'll ever meet. Some of your most fun times will be when the wind isn't blowing. Find a crew sitting around in a circle under some shade and just dive in.

Thanks Bob. Hey, I am in need of a set of 4-ply slicks and quite possibly a small kite add to the quiver. I was thinking maybe a 1.8 Rage. I am used to grass, so the hard and fast lake bed is gonna have a bit of a learning curve. Share your thoughts please.

Flyz, there is no retail commerce at the event but you could prearrange the purchase of tires and your kite ahead of time and pick it up there. I know Kent at A wind of Change can help you and probably Corey at Wind Power Sports also here in Vegas as well. It also is a great idea to support the company sponsors of the event and keep the money flowing round and round in the sport. Other event sponsoring dealers that aren't in Vegas travel to the event and would also appreciate your business and could also meet you on the playa to get your previously arranged purchases.

Thanks! The hanging tree is right in the center of the casino in Buffalo Bills. Can't miss it. Bar surrounds it.

It is my sincere hope that there will be almost no time to visit the hanging tree this year.

If all goes as planed, you will only have tuesday night to go there, because there will be way to much fun out on the lakebed to miss!

YMMV!

Aoxo~soon~!~

Hello Dean,
It is my intention to have the "full" Playa experience. I plan on taking in all that the event has to offer. I pretty much plan on living out there the entire week. I believe there is definitely "something" to the entire thing that cannot quite be explained....except in: AoxoMoxoA
