Best time of year for winds at Ivanpah

It is looking more and more unlikely that I will be at this years NABX but I'm desperate to have ago on the lake.

I'll probably be there just 2 or 3 days max and I want to increase my chances of getting some buggy action and video footage and a new pb.

Bob will probably know the answer to this but I'll put it out there anyway....Does anybody know what time of year would be best ?

Cheers

...don't say April :sniff:

Red, the winds were cranking from April all the way through June last year. I remember because I either didn't have much of my gear or was busy getting settled in the new house. Others with more experience might be able to expand on that. I do know that these good winds we've had have kicked in during the last 2-3 weeks. The right day could be a day to remember the rest of your life or we could just as easily be working on our frisbee techniques. No wind is great for talking and getting to know each other, but also even steady low winds will power you up without huge kites.

Thanks Bob. That's promising news on the wind.

I think I'm going to have to fly over soon.

I'll buy the tickets first and let you know, and if you're free for those few days I'm there then it would be great to meet up.

Thats awesome. My younger son Jared has baseball games on Saturdays at either 9am, noon, or 6pm. I'll work with you the best my schedule allows. You can take a buggy with you as well, but there by yourself would need a permit from BLM which is free. I look forward to riding with you.
