Depower diagnosis?

I flew my gin Eskimo II in light winds my first time out, but today I flew it in 15-20 mph winds and had some problems. I can't figure out what's wrong with the depower. I have flown depower inflatables numerous times and know how it is supposed to work and feel. Basically, here's what happens: the kite pulls more when the bar is out. Pulling the bar in only "scrunches" the bottom end of the kite like a fixed bridle kite's brakes. My buddy who has flown kites for a while doesn't know what to do either.

The lines are the same length. I'm using a gin bar. I'm assuming it's something to do with the bridle. The steering lines are extremely slack when the bar is fully depowered, and slightly taut when powered. I will try to get a picture up, but any help is greatly appreciated.

may be set for unhooked, knot away from the kite at the front attach on kite if possible ...

would u say it FLEW fast? or just more pull?, or a little of both,

and assuming it is responsive to turning with the bar out.

Code:
by B-rock Newer models come with multiple knots on the rear leader lines - go with the setting closest to the bar. If that's not an option, fly it first and if you don't like the way the kite turns or you don't have enough depower or stearing with the trim strap pulled in, add a second knot about 3" down the leader and you should be good to go.

Do as was recommended in you original post ......

I have the rear lines on the knot that's closest to the bar. Is he recommending that I make knots farther away from the bar?

Edit:nvm. I think I got it. I can't believe I missed that...
