Advise on a possible buggy purchase

Hi all,

Looking for a new buggy and i spotted this.

http://www.adverts.ie/camping-outdoor-pursuits/peter-lynn-ki...

My question is, as i can get a standard XR brand new delivered for 420 (and indeed a zebra for 430) does the chunky wheels, extra axle and bag make this a better purchase? I do like the idea of big tyres/smoother ride, does it make a very noticible difference?

Also, whats your thoughts on the XR in general? I know is more geared towards the freestyle end of the market, Im only into cruising at the moment.
I understand the XR is stronger than other PL bugs, would it be ok for a larger gent (15/16st)? Ive been riding a v-max up to now..

Any advise mucho appreciated as always,
Thanks Guys..

He says he'll give a 3M Beamer to any paying full asking price! I think the extra axle and bigger tires will be helpful in the softer sand, too. I think it is a better deal, but make the decision after a good inspection of the buggy(he says you have to meet to do the exchange?) check welds/joints and connectors and bearings. Good luck! I think for just cruising the XR will work for "the larger gent", but maybe not for jumping. V-max is a great bug, too. Are you replacing it?

No, i went halves with a friend on the vmax but its time to double up... the beamer is included if paying asking price and collecting. He's also willing to deliver for asking price without the kite, which is very decent as he's the other side of the country and im not in a position to pick up..

No offense intended here, but I cannot imagine replacing a v-max with a comp XR. I have often thought of going from my XR to a libre buggy. Unless there is some specific purpose you want to use the XR for, I would have thought that the v-max would be a much nicer buggy.

Unless you are looking at the XR for the larger tires? Wouldnt it be cheaper to mod your v-max to hold larger tires and just get the tires for it?

Sorry... I'm a bit confused and might not be making sense...

It also has the splash guard, the dry bag and belly pan - all nice little extras that add up and the buggy appears to be in good shape overall but the bearings look a bit rusty from the close up on the wheel (not a big deal but check them out). I have a buddy that lives in Tralee and buggies almost every day so he probably knows this buggy and seller if you want me to ask him if he knows about the deal.

@ragden - I hear you, i realise the vmax is the better of the two. Its not that im replacing it, just need a 2nd buggy. My mate is bigger also, so he needs the vmax.
