I kinda thought i wanted to run a marathon (as a goal for getting in shape) this summer
But this looks like my kind of course... a few big guys and some strength challenges, and not all runing.. Who wants to go!?!?
A chick at the gym saw me lifting and said this "Mudder Marathon" is something youd be great at.... welll holy hell that looks like a riot!
Quote:
FACT #2 – Mudders do not take themselves too seriously.
Triathlons, marathons, and other lame-ass mud runs are more stressful than fun. Not Tough Mudder. As hardcore as our courses are, we meet you at the
finish line with a beer, a laugh, and a rockin’ live band. It’s pretty hard to take yourself seriously when you’re covered in mud and have just
finished an obstacle called ‘Just The Tip’, so please don’t show up at a Tough Mudder without a sense of humor. Just check out the ridiculous team
costumes in our event photos to get a feel for the spirit of Tough Mudder.
Reminds me of a "Wilderness Challenge" I did back in 2002. It was in West Virginia and consisted of four events over 2 days. There was a 5 mile run
through the hills along the Gorge. A bicycle relay through a mud covered trail (complete with a log and over conveniently placed obstacles). A
whitewater rafting excursions (timed event), and a forced hike where the team had to finish together.
It was a fun event, but we took far too seriously, and the white water rafting part killed our team (it was two teams to a boat and the other team
didnt row... ).
Drew keep that 2013 Jacksonville event up front and center I would definately up for it!

Some guy posted an hour video of his Spartan Sprint race in Pennsylvania (slow day at work today), 4mile sprint looks a tad lame compared to Tough
mudder. Not a walk in the park but the obsticles are pretty simple , a bunch of mud holes and 2 rope nets. If I can get the guys to go I might try one
this summer in Pa.

Sorry bro but wedding + JIBE = no tough mudder for this mougl. Going to need my strength for other activities besides, my knee wont hold up to that much abuse
Start line elevation: 8100 ft above sea level, high point on course ~11000 ft
I swear we made that climb 4 or 5 times.... Holy crap that was a super hard event
I made the 20' half pipe in one shot by myself, but I also got laid out by the tazers at the end we completed every obstacle, and finished as a team.... I need a beer lol
