i use my twister on the atb with handles and it works great... i hear the twister on the bar is more sluggish, and lacks the control and response of the handles

the HQ toxic, HQ crossfire, & Flexi Blade are all in the same class.... not sure if ozone makes a lifty FB kite... im sure they do, i just cant remember atm

PL: Twister II 5.6m, Phantom 15m / 12m, 10m Synergy, JIBE Viper 5.3m, Charger 19m

Flexi: Blade ViP, Rage 1.8m \"lil Pepi!\"

yes pass on the bar with the twister 5.6m. You will be much better off with handles. I have not tried it on ozone turbo bar .. maybe that would be ok .. not sure. The peter lynn bar on that kite makes it way too slow .. you will be disappointed in it.

I'm not opposed to handles. Its not like A 5.6 is going to get me up in the air doing grab tricks so I suppose it doesn't matter. The toxic looks good 5 or 6.5 maybe. I have done a fair amount of research and was planning on buying the twister II R new. All the online shops seemed to have jacked up there prices in the last month. hopefully I can save some money. I'm not looking to spend more then 300.00 used.

erich- check here for sale items, you might find what you are looking for, for cheaper.

for ATB parts the best place to find a deal is the surfing dirt forum, I picked up a pair of GI Bionic trucks for $75....

You can hook in with handles using a " strop " line .

It is best to get used to jumping unhooked 1st but you can hook in and fly one handed, do grabs etc. on handles.

The 5.6 will please you on handles and disapoint on a bar.

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

Wow you guys are super helpful.
Erratic - I'll keep checking here for a deal. I'm on surfing dirt a few times a day.
Bladerunner-I hadn't heard of a strop, thanks.
Is there a kite comparable to the twister 5.6 that would work well with a bar?

erich

The Twister will put you in BIG AIR with the right winds. (Have a IIR 5.6m)
Flying static, I'm jumping in 6-8mph winds (I'm ~60kgs). With a hard pack surface, you'll ride the ATB without effort. If winds go a bit higher, you'll have a great time. On mid teens and I'm having my arms stretched even with kite parked at zenith (Twisters are real lifters)

And as said, Twister and handles=yes but with a bar (even an Ozone Turbo Bar) it's a no-go. I've tried it but it doesn't like too much brake input. That is why the finesse you get from the handles work to your advantage.
With a strop, you'll have power in the harness and a way to rest your arms also.

Are you in Europe? I'm thinking in selling mine but to EU only.

Regards
Joćo

When using a bar you lose control of brake line input on all fixed bridle kites.

If you go to a bar go to a depower kite. I spent a lot of time and a bit of money trying to match fixed bridle kites and a bar. The only thing it did was slow my progression.

some guy was asking 300 a few weeks ago.
he couldn't sell it used at that price but I think 200 is the sweet spot for 5.6
\\

There's like two/three people trying to move them now,
I think it's either in their sigs or mentioned in a post.

I was not clear that this will be your 1st kite.

I would warn against this kite as a 1st kite. It is designed to lift / hurt you if you don't control it right.

I thought you were moving up to this kite after learning the ropes on a smaller kite with bar.

The sad fact about this sport is that no single kite does it all. You need to put in your time on a less aggresive kite . Owning that less aggresive kite becomes a blessing down the road. It will serve you in high winds and for teaching others. If you buy a quality trainer kite you can usually sell it for about what you paid , used . Most people hold on to that quality trainer so they sell very easy if you need to.

I had in my mind that the imp was a 2 or 3 line kite. I must of had it confused with an older model or different kite. I'm sending him a message.
