I may be missing something, but I don't see how a bearing in your wheel has any effect on your trucks. They are completely separate parts, after all.

I'm confused too. Are you saying the bearing is stuck in your hub or are you saying the bearing has seized in its casing?

MBS Matrix and Matrix Lite Trucks have bearings at either ends of the kingpin.

MBS Matrix Trucks

MBS Matrix Lite Trucks

The bearing(s) go into the circular recess in the top truck.

Ride long enough with seized bearing in the top truck and you will gouge/grind the recess.

Shouldn't need to buy new trucks.... should just be able to disassemble the trucks and either perform some TLC or outright replace the bearings.

Assuming that's what's up, but the original post is a tad lacking in details.

negative.

3 inner race bearings from previous wheels are stuck on the trucks

It's an older model GI truck so there is no plastic meeting the liquid

The trucks look pretty similar to this

If you aim and thumbs aren't up for whacking...

You might try some Breakfree CLP. It will be in the gun/hunting section of most sporting goods stores.

Failing that...

If the bearings are a total write off. Put on goggles and gloves. Take a Dremel and fiber wheel to cut away the outer ring of the bearings, remove the ball bearings and peel away the inner ring with a pair of needle nose pliers. Then remove all the surface rust with 120-220 grit aluminum oxide tape from the plumbing department of your local Lowes or Home Depot.

Sam

Knock off the outer race and bearings with a hammer if you haven't already. Dremel tool or hacksaw a groove in the inner race. Then borrow a nut cracker tool and line up the sharp side with the groove. Should crack at that weakened point and just stick a screwdriver in the gap and twist. That should do it. Easier said than done.

I've done this on Gabe's boards before and it has worked just fine. Also try soaking it in a good penetrating lube. NAPA has one that stinks but REALLY WORKS!!! Blaster PB or something like that. Lots of writing on the can.

vise grips, hammer . OR a cold chisel will easily crack the race right off. place nut BACK ON axle end so not to mar it.

swing it like you mean it.

Was afraid that going to happen with the torch/vice grip/brute force route.

Sounds like at this point your options are to get new trucks or check with Dirt Dave to see if the axle studs are replaceable on the Gen 1 Torsion Bionics.

Pretty sure they were replaceable on the Gen IIs and there were definitely replaceable on the Spring Bionics.

it's ok I'm horrible with shop tools. It just never crossed my mind to figure out.

Maybe if I take a wife I'll read a book on the matter to feign manliness:roll:
