Blade AoA adjustment

Hey all,

I searched the forum before posting this this but didn't come up with much, maybe I missed it though.

Anyone how how these AoA adjusters work on the Blade? I searched the Flexifoil website but only found a generic manual which did not cover anything about AoA adjusters.

Is there anything available online?

I see there are a series of beads (4) at the upper bridle points, so I'm assuming if I move the connection point up/down the beads it will alter the AoA. Just not sure which way does what.

I'm also curious on the cross bridles, I'm guessing as you shorten these it will increase the turning speed?

thanks,
Mike

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner bro. I never touched the AoA on the Blade so I can't offer much help on this one but I think you're right about moving the connection points. If I'm not mistaken (I have been known to make a lot of mistakes though  ) there is a diagram on coastalwindsports.com

Ah, no worries man. I found the AAA kit on coastalwindsports but don't see any other info.. still looking though.

Aha! Found it: http://www.flexifoil.com/webdownloads/instruction_manuals/bl...

ain't Google great? ;) No wonder I wasn't finding anything at first, they call it the "Triple A Bridle Adjustor." Alrighty!

thanks,
Mike

you have a blade IV?

I thought the aaa with the new beads is only on the V ... And I do not believe the V has the cross adjustment

It's a V, and yes it's got the beads. I think they work similar though from IV to V, just one has knots and one has beads.

Also has the cross bridles.

I just tried it out earlier on the "less grunty" setting, couldn't tell much difference really but it was getting dark and crowds were starting to form, so I packed it in. ;)

very cool ... all the V I have seen did not have the crossover. I was disappointed in that. So good to here it is back on. The beaded aaa is the the second version of the V .. I like to call it V.2 lol. Sounds like maybe there is a V.3 now with the added crossover as well as the beads. Basically its back to a IV now which they should have never changed in the first place.
