Northern france?

Does anyone know of a good location/s on the northern coast of France? I'm looking at doing short 2 or 3 day trip (ideally a quick trip through the tunnel) camping and Buggying so interested in any recommendations. ;-)

I can't see where you live so I can't tell if you live in the UK, or are traveling from the US, so some of what I'm posting may be obvious to you. If so, just ignore it and take what you need.

Les Hemmes is great, but heavily tide dependent. It's only good for a few days a month. Here's a chart that details the good days in yellow, the good weekend days in green. Don't bother on the other days, the beach will be too wet even at low tide.

Here is the best camping site for Les Hemmes, sorry it's French only:

Here is a guide to the sites right next to the tunnel:

Here is a guide to the sites a little bit further away in France, probably none of these will be good for a short trip, depends on how much you like to drive. #1 is a great beach, with camping right across the road.

http://www.seka.org.uk/cmps_index.php?cc=flyingsites-brittan...

Don't forget that 2 of the nicest beaches in the UK, Camber and Greatstone are right near the tunnel entrance on the UK side. You could plan to stop there on the way.

Camber:

Greatstone:

http://www.seka.org.uk/cmps_index.php?cc=sites-greatstone

The best camping for both of those beaches (they are only about 20 minutes apart), camping is in the middle

Hope this helps. PM me if I can help with anything, if you are coming from America I can loan you some stuff if you need, but you'll have ot bring me some grits :piggy:

Thanks for the info, I Live in the UK.

Camber and Greatstone are on my hit list as they are 2hrs away so would make for a good day trip. Les Hemmes sounds like a plan and not too far from the tunnel as don't really want to drive too much in France yet.

Certainly be nice to get a decent beach session without getting cover in dog mess!

Maybe one day i'll make it to the states

Where do you live? I live in Twickenham and frequently go to Les Hemmes as a day trip. It's a bit pricey to do very often, but if you collect Tesco vouchers it's not hard to get a free crossing. The best thing to do is keep an eye on the SEKA forums, they organize weekend trips as a group. If you want to go to one of those, PM me and maybe we can work out sharing the cost of the tunnel.

Certainly get to know Camber and Greatstone if they are only 2 hours away, that's about far they are from me and I try to go there once a month or so. If you have a family, there's tons of non-kiting stuff to do as well.
