Freakin kite killers

So I went out to the lake with my family today and figured I'd take the kite along just in case an opportunity presented itself. Naturally, I made sure it did

We pulled up to a nice spot with enough room to fly, winds were fine not great but it worked. I got in about an hour before my parents and their friends were ready to go. I packed up in a hurry and guess what i forgot...... FREAKIN KITE KILLERS. Went back for them cause I figured not many people would have been through there (had to drive up by boat) but there were a bunch of drunk college looking 'kids' that had set up a volleyball net and just kept asking me what kind of wolf I had since my dog swam to shore with me instead of listening to my persistent "where's my black arm band things".

Guess I will be ordering some new ones soon ish.... guess i just needed to vent :/ My dad didn't understand my frustration that these people my age weren't able to answer whether they'd seen them and just how freakin much I wanted to find the stupid things.

ANDDDDD its supposed to rain tomorrow. Bad start to the week for kiting....

+1 on the Bummer.

Weren't the kite killers attached to the leaders of the control handles? :puzzled:

Presents a good case study for leaving your kite-killers attached to your kite when you put everything away. Unless you are taking off your lines after you finish flying the kite (not something many people flying fixed-bridle kites do).

I also used to keep a spare set of kite-killers in my bag in case one snapped, or I borrowed someone's kite who didn't have killers on it. They are not very expensive to order. Maybe order an extra set when you do?

Just a thought. :)

Beaver this crowd has a few!!
I thought this thread was heading in a different direction. I have never cussed at Killers more than in the Buggy. Roll the kite back to bring it around and all of a sudden a yank on the arm and "OUCH" Along with a bunch of profanities!! I just ran over my Killer and I'm bummi'n!! Any one else admit to doing this? 'cause I know you did it once!!!

Just a thinly veiled story to see if Big Kid might want to "replace" my set of Combats and Centuries I "lost". Just jokingly testing the limits of his generosity.
