evidently I have seen sun dogs and halo many many times. Pretty cool though I must say. Speaking of sayings there's one that I was taught long ago.
"Sun dogs at night farmers delight. Sun dogs in morning farmers take warning." True to the fact the weather has worked to prove this point several
times. The pillars though not so much seen though.

We see halos and pillars a lot in the winter. I never get tired of 'em. We don't see sun dogs too often, not sure why.
Wicked cool tho.

I remember checking ski tickets in MT watching sun dogs come off the spanish peaks. I had to wait for someone to point it out before I knew what they
were called lol

cool pic of the kite!
never seen a full circle or pillar, but we see sundogs quite a bit starting late fall and in winter.
Reason I post is that I actually saw a 1/2 a sundog last night at sunset. :wow: I don't believe I have ever seen one in the summer before. Pretty
sure they are actually from ice crystals refracting the light, so must have been cold up there!
