anemometer recommendations

Can someone please point me to a good brand/ model for an affordable and durable anemometer? If I could order it on amazon that would be preferred.

Thanks everyone

The one I use, only 20 bucks, accurate enough, no batterys. Just don't get sand or water in it.

Sand and water are often things I am covered in, including all my gear.

I've had a lot of different kinds but my Windtronic 2 is my favorite by far. I paid $85 for mine...could have probably got it a little cheaper but no big deal. I think I got it from ebay...auction id = blastvalve out of Breckenridge, CO.

a combine gps and anemometer could be the best... but i didn't see nothing like that...
should put your gadjet in a water proof sleeve/hard box, sand will stay out.

I find the best wind indicator to be a spinner sock.

The way it is acting tells so much about the wind at a glance.

I have a windtronics and would gladly trade it for a good spinner !

Plenty of good choices listed above. I also want to add that the Xplorer 2 that I provided a link to Amazon above is completely waterproof. I use it all the time for water temp and windchill readings and it really is pocket size. Not that any of these features may matter to you but just in case...
