Kite practice hanger for rolls/spins?

Anyone have pics or method of suspending your kitebar/lines to practice spins/rolls?

Was thinking like...old bar and a tree and some big bungie material or something like that...

Roperiding....

Roperiding ???? Learn ATB tricks with no wind ....???

No wind? Got a bridge?

If you go with trees, things to consider:
  • Branch should be stout enough that the "give" is in the bungee and not the branch. Otherwise you could have two sources of elasticity that get out of phase.
  • Make sure your attachment method is not adversely impacted by bark abrasion.
  • Set up so there is enough room that the bungee doesn't launch you into the trunk of the tree.
  • The bridge setup gives a lot of room in all directions.
There are some close-ups in the various videos that show what they uses for a bar. Note that a standard bar is not used because hanging weight off the plastic bar ends probably wouldn't end well. There's also an example of how a secondary line comes down from the apex of the lines attached to the bar ends (to attach a harness to).

ATB,
Sam

I use to have handles suspended from a beam in my basement that I could use for just such purposes but then the kids started growing up and their bikes, hockey nets, foozball table, etc. made it impossible to spin without hitting something. I thought it was a blast to play around but never had the stones to throw a backroll on the kite like I could in my basement. If I had a tree branch that allowed for it, I'd set things up outside in a jiffy.

good practice for sure. definitely good without the slam feature . some good head control, body control stuff for sure. the inverts seem heavy without the momentum, but great windless day stuff!
