0km, 0mph, or 0knots? 1km is .53 knotts. lol so technically if it is less that one km, then it could be 0 knotts..

no wind here either, glad I have stuff to do and my atb does not get in until monday.

Mood: low winds here I come

[*] posted on 27-7-2012 at 08:54 PM

It's been blowing SE quite a bit here lately. The past three years have seen more W,NW,SW. Sad part is that the winds only show when you gotta be at work. You'd think without trees in Saskatchewan we'd have wind non-stop. I feel your pain.

I had some good wind on sunday so I took my 13m and rollerblades to the park to try some traction flying. The wind was erratic and the kite ended up falling out of the sky only to catch at the last minute in the red zone. Thank god I spent a lot of time on my 4m trainer as I knew that this was a bad thing and got ready to pull the kill.

sure enough, it opened up at the worst possible time and almost took me for the ride of my life. I ended up pulling the safety before it was too late, but I had to rollerblade through the park chasing after my kite.

sprained my finger, but it would have been a lot worse had I not spent so much time on my scout. Learning to fly is easy and can be done in a few hours. it's learning how to handle things when they are going wrong(or about to); that is what I think people need to focus on when learning.

Today I got my atb! tomorrow I will have another story most likely ending in me scraping something.

I have not used anything larger than 4.5m with my regular rollerblades on tarmac. 2.5 or 3m is plenty of kite with any real wind. I do use large kites with Coyotes on grass but rolling resistance is higher.

Very good point about learning kite skills to handle bad sitiuations !

Sorry you got bad treatment trying to buy at www.kiteboardbc.com I will not be sending folks there anymore ! You won't get asked to pay above asking price here !

Just looking at windalert.com and it looks like there is no wind anywhere. IF you're wondering why, it is because the house is empty and I have nothing else to do around the house.....
