Have you riden with the rubber stoppers in yet. I had a problem with them falling out. I fixed it by using 10lb double sided tape. Lighter tape didn't hold.

The original rubber stoppers did fall out.

I tried a stack of 2 furniture rubber foot floor protectors, but they were too soft.

Doubling Black Rubber Hole Plugs (3/4"x5/16"x1") were firm enough and I could place them directly under my heels. I did tape them into place (took off the tape for the photo) so I would not loose them but these are wedged in tight. I am 6'2" and 200# so there is too much flex of the wood under my heels. Toeside I don't get nearly the leverage, so I don't use plugs on that side.
