Got myself a buggy !


I feel i'm tip toeing into a strange and alien world !

Any tips or advice for someone who's never sat in a buggy before ?

The basics are the same. Point downwind to get going and then trim / travel cross wind.

Keep tension on your lines. That means not taking off downwind too fast etc..

Make small motions and don't dive the kite too deep if you have decent wind. Better to not get moving and still have the kite up to bring around and try again than crash.

Wear a helmet !

Pick a day with a nice straight on shore breeze ,light up a kite and go for a ride.

+1 for the Tutorial from Coastal, I printed it out and read it over and over when I was first learning to buggy. Be prepared for that persistent grin that comes with a great session in the bug! :roll:

I have heard a large number of people say they have done exactly the same thing.

When I started I got a ( kitesurf ) training video and watched it until it ran in my head. I am far more visual in learning and it was great !

Yes. Warn family and friends ahead. You are not on some happy pills, the feeling just lasts !!!! :wee:
