A little close flying with dirtslide from two perspectives.
I know it doesn't look close, but GoPros make Garry Point look huge. We are never more than 120m apart.
Kites are 4m Reflex.

Is it possible to design for strength, if the designer doesn't really understand what strength is?

We both tend to fly without hooking in. Our field is small and usually fairly crowded, so the extra control you get flying arm strong is nice, sometimes necessary. The furthest you can get from "buggy camp" is 500m, so it is not like you are going to be so tired that you are not going to make it back.
