List of kiting areas to buggy?
Is there any official/unofficial list anywhere of best or recommended kite buggy spots for East coast beaches? Maybe I've missed it on here?..
Are we keeping them on 'the down low'(for various reasons)?
We have event pages and other sub-forums, but no page for 'Best buggy areas(USA)' or simply 'Places to Buggy'. I know places to go near me, but as for
special destination or longer trips.... it would be nice to have a list to choose, dream about or actually go to that people recommend and whose
shore condition, availabilty, limits and permits are known. Otherwise I would have to research at considerable efforts in some cases.
If this idea has come up in past ....well... I guess I just missed it, .....or wasn't on here back then.
Again, I understand why one may not want to mention places and reasons for that-without getting into those reasons here.
I'm just curious.... and Kober's posting of Assateague Island MD trip meet-up got me thinking about this. ..and dreaming...

Maybe this will help get things started.
Of the places I've ridden on the East Coast, I'd have to say Jekyll Island, GA is my favorite. A close second would be Anastasia State Park in St.
Augustine FL.
Cumberland Island would rock if they might let you take gear over on the ferry. Never tried that.
Don't forget the beaches all along the South Carolina coast though. Seasonal availability in the Charleston area and Hilton Head.
Fort Clinch State Park on Amelia Island doesn't allow buggying but I think you could access the barren beaches from the southern side of the park
without issue. (I might've been an outlaw buggier there a time or 2)
St. Simons Island is just north of Jekyll and offers some good angles to the wind.
Tybee Island has a great place to ride on the north end of the island. Easy to get away from the crowds in between access points. Wraparound point
at the north offers open space and options for different wind angles.
Edisto Island has some nice open beaches on the north end.
Kiawah Island has some really nice beaches but not sure of legality of buggying there.
I buggied on the Outer Banks south of Nags Head and it was awesome. There have been changes about beach access there regarding vehicles and even foot
traffic in some areas, so locations would have to be evaluated.

La Pesca in Mexico is one of the worlds best spots. I'm in the Houston area and it is closer than the dry lakes, and a far better surface. Why go
to the desert when you can go to the tropics?

Brian I think our hero and mentor Glenn Davison just posted a wonderful "his words" list of kiting places. He even updated it the next day to include

Checked Wikitravel for La Pesca, looks like soft sand beach, big RED flag on Food & Lodgeing Prices$$$???.
Perhaps Taperi123 can elaborate why he thinks this is the best spot?
I usually go SPI Tx resonably priced., traveling south 4+ hours for a better venue-need more first hand info..
