Venom 10m

Well the montana and eskimo sold and I found a new kite. Would a 10m venom be a good choice? It has a projected area of 7m and according to the arc calculator would be useable from 10-25mph. It would fit nicely with my 4.5 legend witch is useable up to 15mph. I know arcs aren't the best to start on because of the funky launch but the fascinate me and I will probably progress to them anyway so why not just learn on one?
Also what would be a good price to pay for one with a bar, leash, lines and the original bag?

Arcs - Charger I 8m, 10m, 12m, Venom I 13m - F-Arc 1200, 1600
Single Skin - Born-Kite LongStar2
Fixed Bridles - Pansh Legend 4.5m - Peter Lynn Voltage 3m

Hey Snake,
If I had to be deserted on a desert island with only one kite, the 10 venom is the one I'd take! It's simple, performs well, and you just cannot destroy it if you try. Don't worry about the launching. It's really no big deal.
It's a great kite!

I had a 10m Venom II and it was great on the water. When I crashed, which was often, I could usually just let go of the bar and let the auto zenith take over. On land in gusty rotor type winds I didn't find the autozenith was as good but better than my Neos. I just couldn't take my eyes off it as long as I could when in the water. The trick to launch is good preinflation.

I learned on venoms - they are great kites and launching/relaunching was never a problem on land or with your feet on the seabed in water. I have found Arcs more toublesome to relaunch when out of my depth on water though.

If you are landboarding then that wind range may work but on the water you will need 25 knots for a 10m.

The Venom 10 is a sweet little kite. A little different than a bridled foil but once you get a feel for it you'll find it is an absolute dream to fly.

You're right projected Area is about 7m on that kite. With the right bar the depower range is huge and much better than the Montana would have been. I used to fly the 10m in winds that others would

AWESOME high wind kite.

Nothing funky or difficult about simply grabbing the center lines, taking about 4 steps back, then watching the kite take form and float to the zenith while you grab a drink of water, take a phone call or eat a sandwich...or sip a PBR

Just a matter of setting up properly but this is well documented and becomes routine soon enough.

Have fun.

As long as you have it fully inflated, launching a Venom is now harder than anything else. Piece of cake and everyone loves cake.
