Sunset Beach weekend of Nov 10
I am thinking of making one last trip to Sunset Beach for the year.Tides should be low for a good part of the day on Nov.10 weekend. This is a long
weekend with the holiday falling on Mon.It would also depend on the weather :puzzled:
Anyone else up for a fall blast to Seaside?(if your not there already)

3-Days Out....
I'll let you know...like 3-days from the event...LOL...
That's about as far ahead as I can plan without domestic duties trumping my plans...but I'm sure the wife will appreciate the early warning shot off
the bow...
Stocking up on double layer long underwear and Gortex..and a massive investment in RIPSTOP.....until then... :P
Maybe some interesting things will happen before then (nudge) Jeff...(cough)...
At least it's not a long drive...for me anyway....
BTW - What's the "OTHER" event that's supposed to be happening??

I posted this up early to give people time to plan ahead. It won't be a sure thing for me until I see the weather report a few days ahead. But if the
beach is in good condition and the weather looks good I'll be there.
BTW-There is no other event, only a fool who posted the same event twice, once in the wrong section

You know I'll be there!!!
The beach is in fantastic shape and the entry is in very good condition also.
Yes lets watch the weather closely and see what happens.
Remember the time we sat in the back of my van and flew the Revs in the rain storm? And then we pulled out the buggies!
That was awesome!!!
Let's hope for better weather this time!
fingers crossed

With decent weather I know the rest of the Sunset Beach Bums will show up too.
Crazy Herb rips it up and I just wanted to see him fly his 24,
and I would love to see it as a buggy engine.

The wife asked if anything is coming up, she wants to get away for the weekend.
Good weather or not, rain or sun, calm or wind, Hell or high water, life or death, well maybe not death, anyways the RV is ready and the campground is
reserved and She said, "lets go". I got the best wife:saint:

This sod farm ?
How many hours from Van ?
Won't it be soaking wet ( now ) by then ?
Hotels?
We are NAPKA. would we need a practice permit ?
Are they OK with ATB ?
Wind? Predictable ??
:bigok:
Alvord keeps looking interesting and then I think about 28 hours drive time ?

I will have to call and see what the wind is like this time of year. It gets rather calm late fall early winter before the snow flys by on it's way
from the pass to Idaho. The beach would be a better bet.
I will call and double check. If any Canadians show up at the sod farm then it will have to be a NAPKA event, if it is me and my friends then no
permit is needed.:P The owner is a great guy, he has a buggy and kites so he
would welcome us with a big smile
The sod farm is about 160 miles East of Seattle, just shy of 3 hours and over Snoqualime Pass, which could be a mess this time of year.

Yeh, I'm back. Not a lot of crumpets, but some good ales with locals. Had a good walk at West Sands beach in St. Andrews. Locals there aren't as hard
up for flying as we are, no one about. Did have coffee and a good conversation with Rodger however..

My point, in bringing it up. I'm already on this side.
I'll keep Sunset on my radar. Wife has to be in Seattle on Tuesday the 13th. Sod farm looking better.
Bladerunner did mention Coupeville, in another post. been there haven't flown there. We are talking about Whidbey Island right?

Right ,
I have explored my options and Sunset as always looks best.
Just curious. If we had a NAPKA event at the sod could the owner attend or would we have to get him to join us ? :duh:

The sod farm is always a great place to ride. If Kent is busy for the day, he will find a way to join in, if not no big deal.
Just need one of the regulars to be present to keep Kent happy.

My wife said we are going, rain or shine, wind or calm, we are going.
Then she asked me if the weather isnt any good for bugging, "what are you going to do?" I have one kite with a double dose of Kite-refit on it, just
need a rain coat and I'm good to go. Maybe need to do a stop rain dance

This is a big part of why I want to get down.
High wind and I can test the Flysurfers treatment .
Low wind and I can test the Aurora wet.
I kind of like the idea of you BK being there to see both of these virgin ( ish ) flights ! Nobody can call it like the BK ! :wink2:
So a BIT of rain won't be welcome but won't be scaring me off.
