looking into upgrade in near future!
Brief history:
1st kite circa 1998 prism illusion
1999 Prism Prophecy and Revoulution
2012 finally upgraded to prism Quantum pro..............
Then while trying to teach teenager how to fly kites and worried about them crashing and damaging my toys I got a Prism snapshot 1.9 so there was no
frame to damage and give them a better understanding of controls and the window. Well I had so much fun with it I wanted more my trust in Prism and
not realizing there were other reputable kite mfgrs I purchased a Tensor 5.0. Tons of fun but I'm wanting something with more predictable lift and
gentler landings. 6'00 210lbs looking to stay static don't see wheels strapped to my feet anytime soon. Been looking toward PL Twister but not sure
what would be best. I live near of Lake.Erie and lake Ontario but mostly inland flying. Also not a mecca of kite enthusiasts that I'm aware of so
chance to try someone elses setup is nearly impossible. Winds around 10-15mph but again always good and bad days! Any thoughts would be great and
if there's someone you know in my neck of the woods would be great to meet up!

Twister 5.6 is a great kite. Without getting into DePower Kites, probably the better for what you are trying to do.

nothing is best..its what you like the most...to me the fb's are way more fun static.and get scary in the big sizes (less margin for error).... the
depower kites will give you that up and down ride i think your after, but just not as much fun standing...if i were you i would buy a bunch of both in
a bunch of sizes fly them all....you might want to start selling some of your other stuff too

It sounds like you're near "markite". He may be able to suggest something that's suitable for your neck of the woods.
Go ahead... tell me to "go fly a kite!" Please!

I was wondering about that too Howard but looking at the screen name (...WNY) he might be on the south side of the ponds.
There are people on here from upstate NY as well if you are on the the north side of the border there are a lot of kiters here too.
Where do you live?

Twister gets my Vote. Its my favourite of the fixed bridles I have tried.
You might even want to think about the 7.7m one since you are quite a big guy and your winds are reasonably light.

So do you know stillflyin'(Rick)? I fly regularly at Southwick Beach, on Lake Ontario, it's probably a haul for you, but can be a sweet spot when the
wind is good. If you ski or snowboard, there's an option for the upcoming winter.(if we get some snow this winter)

FYI: There is a very active club in the Buffalo area, Great Lakes Kitefliers Society ( www.flyglks.com). They hold their club flies at Gratwick Waterfront Park first Saturday and third Sunday every month, all year.
Touch base with Ted Shaw, dancer at kitestrings.net, and he may be able to connect you with someone there or from Niagara Windriders just across the
border.
Either way, check out this park in N. Tonawanda. Wind is great coming in off the Niagara River and I don't think it gets much use when there is snow
on the ground.
