TRADE REQUEST REMOVED

Hiya,
I have 3 Fixed Bridles RTF kites that I'm looking to trade for a lightly used Depower (preferably closed cell) RTF setup. Here are my FB's:

3m Ace (Yellow) RTF
4m 2012 Flux (Black/Yellow) RTF
8.5m Flexifoil Blade IV RTF

I love each of these kites and I am positive that I will regret at least part of this transaction, but I'm on a complete spending freeze atm and I really need to get into a depower to go along with our winter winds.

I'm interested in trading for any of the following:
HQ Neo 3 8m+
Flysurfer Pulse 2 8m+
PL Charger 8m-12m
Ozone Access or Frenzy 8m-12m

Basically, I'm looking for a closed cell depower from 8-12m that won't rip my face off the first time I set it up in low winds. I'll also consider anything similar to the above in the LEI category... I just don't know much about LEI's because we don't have a coast here. We do have a few ponds, though :).

Anyway, all 3 of my kites are in great shape. I'm 2nd owner on the blade, but the original owner did a great job of taking care of it, and I've only flown it maybe a dozen times. The Flux and the Ace have probably also been flown about a dozen times, but were new for me.

Here is a pic of the ace and the flux. Will upload a Blade pic shortly.

Also, if you happen to find it in your heart to include a back harness in the transaction, it might save me a lot of begging :)

Cheers,
Dave

I'm pretty sure an 8m Charger does not allow you to fly in th same wind range as an 8m Pulse or Neo and none of your selections will cover the range of the kites you are trading / selling.

8m Pulse will replace your 3 and 4 but leave a huge gap that your 8.5 use to fill and a 12m Frenzy is much more powerful than any of the 8m kites you mentioned though a 12 / 8 combo would be nice if buying 2.

You might want to think a bit more about what you are trying to do or you may wind up with a kite that leaves you underwhelmed since there is such a difference between a Charger, Pulse and Frenzy in the sizes you mention.

Depower Quiver: 14m Gin Eskimo, 10m Gin Eskimo III, 6m Gin Yeti, 4.5m Gin Yeti (custom bridle and mixer)
Fixed Bridle Quiver: MAC Bego 400, JOJO ET Instinct 2.5 & 5.5, Lil Devil 1.5, Sting 1.2

Probably be better off going for a new Pansh Aurora Depow Kite and adding a bar.......Pansh is having a great sale on their new depow.....

That trade seems a little lopsided..... IMHO

Thanks for the feedback, everyone.

I was hoping maybe someone with a big quiver of depowers might be interested in trading one for a pretty broad range of FB's (for their kids, friends, static, buggy etc). I'm leaning primarily towards snow and land, and after a bit of experience, my FB collection doesn't make as much sense. Today is my birthday, so I was trying to orchestrate a birthday kite swap :)

I won't be on a spending moratorium forever. We just bought a house and all of my kite money is going towards furniture :). Anywhoo, any of the depower kites I listed would certainly be a good start to a (hopefully relatively comprehensive) depower quiver. I recently saw an Apex 3 go for $275 on here, and I bought the blade for $300, so by throwing in the flux (Pansh's best kite, IMO) and the ace (super fun to fly < 5m), I figure it's a fair trade.

So, I appreciate the feedback on which trades are ridiculously optimistic and which (if any) are reasonable. I know I'm cutting my range by about 66%, but I'm okay with that (and so is the ol' lady).

Thanks! Please keep the feedback coming. Particularly, I know next to nothing about LEI's so if you know of any entry level(ish) model that would be fair, please let me know. Also, if you think any DP is really quite comparable, lemme know. My favorite of these is the neo, but I think the apex is a little more comparable at $625 new.

If it doesn't work out, no big deal, but it'd be awesome if it did.

Thanks.

Also, I added the frenzy and the charger almost as an afterthought. I'd love to have one, but its probably a pipe dream. I'd also love to have a matrix , Montana, phantom or an Eskimo (all pipe dreams).

The rest are entry level(ish) kites. The Blade is most certainly NOT an entry level kite :).

Anyway, like B-roc said, The 8-12 combo is eventually the ultimate goal. But I'm pretty flexible on where I start, obviously.

The Aurora looks to be up in price now. Still waiting on our buy of 3 . I wouldn't be rushing out to recommend it yet? I still have doubts it will perform Anything like a Flysurfer or HQ since it isn't bridlled the same ?

Sorry for the thread veer. Good luck with your trade. If ever there was somebody willing to trade depower for FB it will be here.

Thanks, blade. How do you like that 5m ace? The 3m gets pretty hot in gusty winds. I can't even imagine how exciting 2 more meters would be :)

It appears I have come into some birthday money that I'm not required to spend on furniture, so perhaps I will just end up buying a used something. I'd also be willing to subsidize the trade a little if the deal is lopsided.

You might move things faster selling and then buying ? I think more folks are interested in buying FB than trading Depower for it. That is sort of a step backwards?

Trouble with Pansh is they have such poor resale value. I am happy enough with the ace. It is the original $99 one. I think Pansh got the design right on the 5m and then just scaled things from there ? It still surges and folds but not as bad as the smaller ones. Turns better than the larger ones.

Yeah, I think I'm going to pull this. I got a little birthday money so I'm looking at buying some local LEI's or a PL arc, since I don't think I can get a neo for $300.

Thanks again for the advice. I think I'll hang onto the ace and the blade, and sell the flux for ~160 or so.

cheers and happy kiting, folks.
