Kiting for a 15 year old.
Ok, im 15 september. At the moment i have a Ozone, i think its an Imp. Not a big one its a two lined kite but it still pulls me. Im looking to advance
into buying a traction kite. Ive been looking around and i thought maybe a Flexifoil Sting 1.7 with 4 lines and and handles.
Really i just want to know if its too big for my age or whatever. Im not really a novice. Ive flew flexifoil super 10, bullet 2.5 and my imp. Maybe a
harness would be a good idea?
Thanks to anyone to who can help me.

whats your weight?
A harness is not going to be such a good idea right now as youll be moving up into a 4 line kite, youll want to get the hang of 4 lines before you go
and strap yourself in to a harness, a harness is good if you plan to atb or buggy, just make sure your ready for it..... it pulls you from the core,
instead of your arms and its a little different than what you may be used to ...
I think a sting 1.7 would be okay for you since you have flown a bullet 2.5 wich I feel has way more pull....

Confirm what size Imp you've been flying, your weight, skill level, and typical wind conditions. Imps come in 1, 1.5, and 2 m,a nd that means a big
range in pull in the same wind.
I know a 6 year old that can fly a 1.5 m 4-line Ozone LD stunt in 8-10 mph winds unassisted. I can scud behind that same kite on sand in 25-30 mph
gusty winds (I'm 127 lbs).
I also know a big (175 lb) 14 year old, a good 4-line flyer, who learned to ski behind a 3.5 m fixed bridle foil and flies my 7-8 m depower foil just
fine.
With a background in 2-line and 4-line stunt kite flying, my first foil was a 2m 4-line, which I learned to fly in 10-12 mph winds. A few months
later, I owned a 3.5 m foil and learned to ski behind it with handles. 2-1/2 years later, I have way too many kites, in all sizes, with handles,
bars, harness - 90% of it purchased used, BTW.

My Imp is most definetly 1 metre
Im about 6 and a half stone
Im not a novice to 4 lined kites but id say im not intermediate either. Im good with a 2 lined kite.
Wind conditions... hmm. Well im not sure what you mean by this but lets say my dad wont let me use his Bullet if its like way too windy...
Ive been looking throughtout on the internet and found out they do a 1.8 Flexifoil Rage. Would this be ok? But for 10cm its £70 more? What else is
better with the Rage which the Sting doesnt have?

So I'm guessing if you're around 90 lbs/42 kg and a 1 m Imp pulls you around, you get some pretty strong average winds. Maybe you typically fly in 18
knots/32 km/hr?
if that's the case, a 4 line kite that is "medium performance" (not too lifty and "twitchy") in the 1.7-2 m range might be right. Does your dad own
the 2.5 bullet you mentioned flying earlier? (maybe he'd let you fly it more in light winds...)
