Is Tensor or Octane a good trainer kite as preparation for kite surfing?
Looking at the Prism Tensor or Ozone Octane to prepare my kite handling skills before trying kite surfing next summer.
Would either be a good recommendation and should I go 3 or 4 meter to accomplish this better? I am thinking bar on both even though Tensor comes with
both handles and bar which I like.
Btw I weigh 180 and my winds are usually 7-12mph where I live, inland.

What size would you recommend, 3 or 4 m? Given that I want to train for kite surfing would a kite with more pull be better or would the 3 m be better
that wouldn't pull quite as hard?

Depends on our normal winds. We usually get 12 mph and I would probably go for a 4m if I was going to work on kite control and body dragging.

Hey NPH!
Well, I can only speak as to the Tensor, as I just recently got a 5.0 and I must say that I love mine. It is nice that Prism offers the switchable
bar/handle combo, as you can experience both feels without having to purchase anything additional.
As I can say, I can only speak on the Tensor, but I was impressed with the construction and the quality of the accessories, including the bag, which
is very nice indeed. The kite killers are very well constructed and all the sewn points look and feel durable and well stitched.
I chose the 5.0 due to the typical winds I have in my area (less than 8, generally), and in 5-7, this guy can pull quite well. If you're in a windy
area of 10+ and looking for a trainer, I would suggest the 4m probably, as the 5 would give you possibly too much pull.
Best of luck on whichever you choose!

Finally made up my mind. Found a great deal online which included an instructional DVD and Tensor 3.1. It is windy season in Dallas and it should be
here before the weekend.
