*SUCCESS* The anti-invert and bowtie mod

I decided that my original thread in the "Wanted" fourm wasn't posted in the right section so I decided to make this thread. You can read the original thread here:
http://www.powerkiteforum.com/viewthread.php?tid=24144

For those of you that don't know, I am attempting to design a mod for Arcs that will prevent inverts and bowties or at least make them less likely to occur. My current design has a small effect but I have not had much time to make adjustments and fine tune the design.

Today I decided to do some math to determine the effectiveness of the mod. It turns out the current mod only begins to correct inverts after the kite is inverted. After playing with the numbers for 3 hours, I have came up with a new design that should correct inverts before the kite inverts more than half way. Bowties are harder to solve with because ther are so many ways for a bowtie to happen.

Next weekend I will test again if the winds cooperate and it isn't frigidly cold.:roll::roll:

I had a chance to test again today. It was a a failure. The concept behind this mod is a bridle that activates when the kite flairs. The problem is the kite has to be be able to flagout which makes much harder to get the bridle to work. I have concluded that a bridle that lets the kite flagout will not be very effetive until the kite is atleast half way inverted, which it to late to prevent an invert. It does nothing for bowties.

So you are probably wondering why success is writen in capital letters in the title. That is because I ditched the idea of a bridle after all the failures. I was doing screwing around with my kite when I thought back on some thing Feyd told me. He said awhile back people were linking the wingtips of the kite together to make the kite unable to invert and bowtie, But it made it have less gust handleing and some other bad things. I decided to try it. It worked but I couldn't flag the kite properly. Then I thought of a solution.

A RING. A sliding ring was the answer. Basicaly you tie a ropes to the front pigtails of the kite, run the ropes through a ring, and tie the rope a few meters down on the power lines. No sewing or knifeing the kite. It literally takes 5 minutes to put on. It can also be adjusted to your preferance. It can be tightened to have a more rigid kite that is faster and has more power but less gust munching. It can be loosened about a meter per side to make the kite have all the qualities of an arc but fewer bowties and inverts. I had mine adjusted about in the middle and it stopped 6 bowties and un-did a bowtie. I was shocked.

I was still testing and doing some jumps when I got a little #@%$#!y. Trying to show off I was attempting to do some 360's while jumping. I was starting to get the hang of it when I landed on my foot wrong and hurt it badly. I may have just sprained it but my parents think I broke it. It hurts pretty bad and I can't walk on it. I don't have any pictures but I will draw some pic and post them to night.

Hopefully my foot isn't broken. That would mean no kiteing for atleast a month. :(

If your parents think you broke it get to a hospital. A break may be a good thing since sprains and strains can take far longer to heal.

I love Nahant but rarely get there anymore.

Here are the pictures. Black is the kite, green is the ring, blue is the left line, and red is the right line:

This it the kite in the normal flying position.

This is what happens when the kite flairs. Notice how the tow point is shifted from the wing tips toward the center of the kite.

This is the kite in the flag out position. Does it make sense now?

cant see the pics. But I've got a tiny sense of what you're describing. I really want to see it because it could make my scorpions a whole lot more user friendly and more valuable to me.
