I found this on YouTube.. and I thought I would share it.. Especially since it was filmed where I live and Kite..(Moab, UT) and I was stoked to see
the skating footage at the end on the Slickrock bike trail.. (check out the terrain)
I hope to be able to kite and skate on that same stuff sometime this spring...
Anyways.. check it out.. The skating doesn't really kick in until 1:15 or so.
I got my coyotes through a Rollerblade sponsorship aboput a million years ago. I used them once or twice, took 'em to Moab once just because I was
gonna be there. Funny, my first trip to Moab was with skates. HAHAHAHA! Well, I guess it's only funny if you know me. Anyway I picked up a
sponsorship from Argon (aka Atomic) and the Coyotes hung in the garage forever.
About 6 yrs ago I took 'em out with the kite. Couldn't believe how fun they were and my first thought was "Man these things would have totally killed
it in the kite world."
BR is right, was out the other day rippin around with a little 2m Impulse 2. I just kept saying "man, I don't do this enough." Super simple fun and
my skis skills translate spot on with the skates. I don't struggle like I do it the mountain board.
Makes me want to go ride right now. :Ange09:
Hey Nomadic, do you ride water? Everytime I'm at Ken's lake the wind is whippin and uber smooth. Not big but it would be fun. We flew some Arcs out
on Slick Rock one morning just to get shots. Wind was fierce. Love Moab, reminds me of Here in North Conway. Same feel.

@Feyd: I know what you mean by the La Sals shots in the video.. it made me hungry to get up there. I've done a fair bit of mountain biking down some
of the trails.. and the thought of doing a few 26 mile downhillers on skates sounds pretty damn epic to me.. There is a run in particular that starts
at 11,000 feet and finishes at 4,800 feet.. I think it would be a great Skate run..
I'm completely jealous of your slick rock flying.. I'm trying to find some skates that will fit me on Ebay.. but the prices keep jacking up into the
$200 range and I just don't have that laying around right now.. The Slick Rock Bike Trail would be epic on wind power.. I'm still gaining courage for
tricks on my soccer field though.. and couldn't even imagine getting FUBAR'd on slickrock sandstone.. I've seen some hamburger wrecks before on
bikes.. and adding a kite dragging you doesn't sounds very appealing.
When I first got my kites, I took a 12m LF Havoc out to Kens Lake to "Try to Learn".. the winds were 10mph gusting to 25mph.. needless to say.. it was
a terrible moment to try and learn with. I got my a** handed to me, but in an educational way. Kens Lake is pretty windy in the Spring months so I
hope to be able to retry it next year. That south side of Moab is pretty steady with wind.. but there are few days it is actually enough wind to get
up on the water I think.
I have since been honing my skills on the land with a mountain board and dirtsurfer.. I have taken the LEI's out to the Colorado River Corridor and
managed a few runs on some straight stretches of river on my board.
I am saving up for a buggy and some coyote skates.. I think with that in the quiver arsenal I'll be able to ride just about anywhere around here with
any shape or size of wind.
Be patient. Check out www.adhuntr.com frequently. Every now and then you can find Coyotes for $100. I just snagged a pair for $65 plus shipping. That is a rare find.

Here's some size 8's Mens in Washington for $75... there would probably be shipping.. I'd snag them if they fit me.. From what I've read.. you want
to buy a size up from what you are.. I'm looking for a 10 or 11.. I'd make due with either..
I used to be crazy into street skating (rollerblades) back in high school, doing all of those way stupid things, and then I just got out of it... I
pulled out my skates a couple of years ago, squeezed into them and had a blast,... They were pretty beat up and would barely stay on, but it was fun
to rediscover those skills.
Watching that vid has me thinking maybe my next year's purchase should be some sort of blades,... What's on the market nowadays if the coyotes are no
longer around?
Small kite and regular rollerblades on tarmac can be amazing fun as well ! Just be ready to go through a set of wheels every few sessions if you go
hard.
I had a fantastic spot between skytrain and science world when I 1st started out but have lost it to development.

Yeah, my old blades are pretty much toast,... I did a google search to see what was out there and this is what kept coming up...
Sounds like you have a pretty good grasp of skikes.
The tighter wheelbase on Coyotes allows for tight turns. With Skike it is wide turn, step turn or a creative one up on 2 wheels. My money is on
Coyotes.
Ebay is also a good source and with time good deals can be had. Unless you have big feet. Buy at least 1/2 size larger than your American norm'.
Are you saying Coyotes run smaller than stated size it is?
I have a thoughtful friend who took a pair of small size Coyotes and took the frame off, mounted it to a piece of board and mounted a telemark binding
on top of it..... (removed brake)...
And he gave it to me!
It's a bit heavy compared to original set up...but it does allow others with their own size tele boots to use set up... if they wanted(none
yet).:wee::wee:
I bought my on ebay ..., I think ~$250 .... They look like never been used .... I have them for a year and never have time and good spot to try them
.... After this post I think I will try harder .... lol...
.. Can I use them on sand in Wildwood ???

....I'm not off-road skating with them(like in video), or anything.
They were used kiting at beach before I had my buggy...
Haven't used them in a while but thinking of getting back on 'em. Want to use my legs instead of just sitting.
Since I've never but used their frame, I don't know how comfy the original boot is. But seems from two on here that they run small..
Coyotes come up pretty regular on Ebay. Small sizes are more common and cheap. Larger sizes come up less and sell for more. I notice those 11's went
for $122. Pretty decent price when you see how well built they are!
