Poll: Which hubs style do you like??

I would like to see what hub style do you like for a landboard. Please decide mainly on looks and style options, not strength or weight. I will do the engineering to make sure the hubs will last and handle harsh landing.

I am planning on designing aluminum hubs. It will either be ONE or TWO piece in different color choices.

Here's a pic of the my Scrub plastic hubs. As you can see, the plastic is not very strong.

MBS Rockstar:

Sysmic hubs: smaller version of the sysmic rims??

Trampa hypa hubs. Three years of hard riding and I havnt broken anything yet. They are the two piece hub system with 6 screws I think.

Although next year I may upgrade to the trampa hub that is similar to the mbs rockstar

I forgot about Trampa!! especially since I have a trampa board myself .. must be old age.

My question here is if you had the option of a cool bling bling aluminum hubs that can be anodized to any color, which existing hubs out there has the LOOKs that you would want your aluminum hub to be??

how many people pinch their tubes in their hubs decreasing lifespan? The question I have about 1 piece hubs is how hard would they be to change tires?

I love my GI crossairs. Been going strong on them since 2006. I also have MBS trispoke which are heavy but bombproof and Vegas hubs which I've had no problems with but don't think they are structurally sound from a design point of view.

I have broken a couple VEGAS hubs in the same manner as the scrubs in your photo, Van...but I just replace components and keep going.... My only complaint about the Crossair from GI was that my bike pumps wouldn't fit in the spokes to fill....

Friends have destroyed the teeth on some MBS Twistar - I would say that without proper maintenance of tightening your screws all of the plastic hubs are prone to deform and damage.

Looking forward to seeing what you can do.......GI's Terraintula aluminum hubs were not well rated for kiting, they didn't handle the shear load on the spokes properly I think?

I think the mini-seismic style rims would be pretty sweet but how many spokes? Reduced count from ten to match size?

Anyone else interested in experimenting with other wheel size? I see those big ole' wheels on the flexboard haize and I'm pretty jealous....

You're going to make something better than anyone else makes so don't copy their design. Make it look uniquely yours.

How about 2 parts that screw together so it looks like a single block of metal with your logo laser etched into the surface? Hollow it out to keep it light and keep out dirt/sand/water. Spokes are a pain to clean.

I love Nahant but rarely get there anymore.

Yes, I plan to design something unique. I've seen some different designs out there so was wondering what people thought was a good looking design. It will be available for kite landboards but it will most likely use more on downhill mountain boards. I need to design it so that it can easily be molded out of aluminum and then machined. It will be a Sysmic/VTT joint effort. Just trying to bring more bling to the sport :spin:
