kite on E-bay
Can anyone tell me about the PL kite on e-bay that looks like a giant bumble-bee....
Just curious as it would look pretty cool getting pulled by it, but only at the right price....

Believe the vintage was early 2000's
Seemed to be a bit quirky and more than a little willing to bite if not properly inflated.
The seller doesn't seem to be able to provide too many details. Looks like the lines are currently wound up on two Shanti Crazy 8 winders or similar.
Make sure that is not what the seller is referring to as "handles" (unless that doesn't matter to you).
Not a foil, but there's at least one bumble bee kite in my bag.

Sam

On ebay
I have been watching that one as well.
I was not able to read anything good on it.
I love the little pieces of thread that they give you with it!
I am not trying to downplay b/c I want it. I'd buy it for $10 but probably not worth more than $80 (everything is worth $80 on a lark!).
Peter Lynn - Resurrected Vapors (thanks to Tenacious Tape): 3.2, 3.8, 4.5, 5.4m. Size 2.3m (dead) - all internal bellows shredded
Pansh - Cerberus - 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.5, 9m. (red)
Peter Lynn - Viper - 2.6m

Ozone - Method 6.5m (w/ Ozone Turbo Bar)
Libre - Bora - Yellow 3.0 & 4.5 (both on their last breath of life)
Peter Lynn - C-Quad - 6.3

I will not be bidding against you...Just thought it had that "Old
School" look to it. Just a fun looking kite to blast down the beach for a couple laughs.

Ya lifty, the PL waterfoil was known to spank even the most experienced of kite flyers.
The "water" foils back then were not depower kites. They were fixed bridle kites with closed leading edges and oneway vents. Flown mostly on bars
(sometimes on handles). Guys around here flew them with bars like these (or some homemade abomination)...
C-Quad controlbar
the Quadrifoil kitebar
or
the Advance articulated kitebar
2016 CORE Section wave 6m and 9m
CORE Sensor2 controlbar
2016 5'2" North WHIP surfboard
Zeeko Spitfire XLW foil and 5'0 custom foilboard
Electric Outback MountainBoard
Any old $100 snowboard
