Sometimes a guy just has to vent ... BK style (*wink)
I know this has happened to others before ... man is it frustrating .... courier companies should be banned.
Most of my ripstop (except pansh and phanny) has come from PKF members in the USA. Never a problem ....
Bought a kite from California ... asked the guy to declare it as a gift, used kite, modest value and ship to me USPS. Never had an issue with Arcs,
bars, buggy bling .. you name it .....
Fellow sends kite with declaration done just as others have .... HONEST mistake made ... shipped it UPS rather than USPS .... I don't fault him for
that .... anyways ... go to get kite at post office today and .... ???? .... additional $50 duty holding my kite hostage ....
aaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrggghhhh. So my $200 kite cost me another $100 in shipping .... double AAAARRRGHHHHHH
enough to make a fellow go postal .... LOL ...
down with courier companies ..... LOL :wee:
- some kites
- NAPKA KC97 - BMK Frankenbuggy
- Hand me down snowboard gear from my kid
- wife burned wallet ... LOL

Um... how can you mistake UPS for USPS? See, this is why attention to spelling and grammar is important :D
It could be worse... I had to pay $280 to get a kite shipped to Japan... from Hong Kong :dunno: next time, I'm checking out the price of air
tickets...!
Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

If I sent a kite to the US from Canada, UPS would hose your guys too. Brokerage Fees and you always get charged the full duty / tax with them

Always use USPS (that's the You-Knighted States Postal Service) when shipping from US to Canada. The paper work is easier and the fees are lower.
It's better for everyone.

To avoid possible confusion I always ask for "US Postal" rather than USPS.
It's an honest mistake.

My ears are burning, someone talking about me?
Not to top your demise but had a guy call and gave a sob story about parts for his buggy and busted my hump to get the parts from Germany at a half
way acceptable price and I ate the over night shipping, and then he stiffed me and never said nothing. But I do remember his name and address. Thought
about stopping by on the way to NABX a couple of times. Might say hi on the way back this year.
Shipping screw ups still suck, at least it made it out of customs in less than 3 1/2 months.

I have been nailed for taxes on the value of my Flysurfer when I was simply getting a mod done.
I have been charged taxes when doing a trade with a guy in hawaii.
In both cases with proper paper work = WORK. I got most of my money back. All but brokerage fees. The ones who screwed me still got paid !

even if you carry it across the border, they will get you. I took BB siderails back to him and it was the only thing in my truck and the Canadian
Border lady was going to give it to me big time. I explained that I drilled a couple of holes in them with a nut welded over the hole and she wanted
me to claim the nut and pay duty on it. I was just a bit pissed.
On the way back over the border I had 2 buggies, half dozen kites, wheels, tires, parts, and a lot of other kite/buggy stuff. The back of my truck was
so full, part of the stuff was in the back seat. The US border guard asked what I had in the back and so I told him and he looked at me as if I was a
nut and said in all this rain you went kitebugging? My response was I was told its always nice in Canada. he laughed and asked if we bought anything
and I handed him the last half of a Rum ball we got at the mall after dinner and told him it was one of the best I have had in a long time. He smiled
and said no thanks and waved us through.
Guess we were more welcomed in the US than in Canada.:dunno:

YES Canadian boarder is amazing. EVEN Customs Kiters !!!!!
I was on my way home from SOBB once. The boarder guard decided I had been drinking even though I told him I never drink. While waiting for the
equipment + men with guns he couldn't help but talk kites ! Even told me he had Mantas coming in. ( obviously Eli and Above You all Kites ) . YES, he
was a fellow kite buggier and rides Sunset so knows folks will have a wobbly pop. ( 5 hours earlier ! ) He was playing insider knowledge and going to
ruin my life . Of course, I blew a zero. If I had blown point anything you know I would have trouble with the boarder forever !
To top it all off he denied knowing anything about the event when asked about it by Eli as he picked up his Mantas. :moon:

I got charged extra $ on a couple purchased. But I didn't worry bout it that much cuz they were kites that I really wanted. Bought some computer parts
from Tiger Direct, about $460 worth. When they arrived I had to pay a $85 brokerage. I wasn't happy, but figured it wasn't worth the fight. Probably
the worst shipping I found was having postal deliver a package, when no one was home. My neighbour four houses down found the wind blew it over to
their house. Good thing the company packed that hard drive in lots of bubble wrap.
what I fly/ride:

12m Flysurfer Speed2
6m Ozone access xt
1.5m Ozone imp trainer
144cm Airush Switch
152cm lib tech skate banana

It cuts all directions. I had the Uterly Stupid Postal deliver me 1/3 of an empty mailing tube (standard size sold by them) that was supposed to
contain kite parts and they then claimed that was how it was dropped off to them :puzzled:
