Peter Lynn Competition???

Hi Guys...
i have seen the above Buggy for sale in nearly new condition, would this Buggy be good for a beginner like me? Would it fold or break down to put in the back of a smallish car?
The Guy is also selling a Flexi Bullet 3.5,a good Buggy engine choice?
Cheers Guys.

Hey Steve.

There are a lot of factors which affect the answer, including where you ride, what kind of riding you want to get into. However the simple answer is yes (in my opinion anyway). The PL comp is a good enough buggy, and you'll be very happy with it, im sure. If i remember rightly the comp has a slightly shorter axle than most freestyle buggys, maybe 95-96cm (standard is 100cm), so will fairly easily fit in the back of most cars. To put it into perspective i fit my flexi in the back of my nissan micra, i just need to take one rear wheel off, and fold the car seat down.

I would say, and i think most would agree that the standard flexifoil buggy would be superior to the PL comp though. And being in the UK, they're quite easy to get a hold of one. Have a look on ebay, and Kitecrowd, you'll be able to pic one up for <£150. However if money is really tight the PL will suit you! And youll be able to get one of those for <£100.

As for the Bullet, although ive never flown one, i know they are good buggy engines. I was looking to replace my 3m a while back and the bullet was one of my top choices. I didnt chose it in the end for a number of reasons though. Mainly because they are getting on a bit now, and being a flexifoil kite, they are often overpriced. Ive seen them go for £140+. Again, im sure if you were to get the bullet you would be happy with it, but with a bit of shopping around im sure you could find a better, or at least a cheaper alternative.

Hope this helps,
Tim

Hi mate,
many thanks for all your great info. You can fit your Buggy in your Micra! Brilliant! I have a Vauxhall Astra so all should be ok then.I also look at Pansh kites alot, loved my little Flux,i think they do one called the 'sprint' which may be a Buggy race kite?...I know alot of people aren't keen on Pansh but i quite like em',cheap too.
Not really sure what what kind of riding i want to do yet??? would like to ride on grass and beach[Brancaster].....We'll see,all looks great to me!
Cheers mate.

Hey,

No problem!
Yeah, you should be fine car wise. Unless you decide to get a big old race buggy :P

Here's a few Flexifoil buggys i found on ebay you might be interested in:

Its easier to get spares etc with Flexi hardware in the UK. They have a higher build quality, and I'd sugget it would last you longer than a PL.

Yeah, the sprint it pansh' race kite. Be careful buying race kites, they require a very different flying style compared to your usual ones. They're much less forgiving, and will luff, and bow tie easily with a small mistake.
Personally I'm not a fan of Pansh. Although ive only flown their older kites, and i know they have improved recently. Most guys would say if you really can afford anything else get a pansh, but if you can save up for a bit and get something with a higher build quality then do that. Having said that different kites suit different people. If you know pansh kites, and you like them then go ahead, and don't feel bad about getting them if that's the kit you go for!..
