I know its different in the UK / USA, but i thought i'd ask anyway. UK forums haven't brought up much.

To be honest, I'm not sure I'm gunna get mine braced right now, mainly cause of finances. but thought it might be worth asking about prices etc anyway.

Roughly how much does it cost to get done ?
And how would I go about sourcing / making the braces them selves ??

I mean bracing the common weaker points, so I can start to do a bit of jumping.

Most guys who brace just do the side rails, and back axle. Some go further and do the forks, and headstock too (see pic)

Do you have the original stainless flexi? The scout already has some mods made to it and the new navarro takes it a step further. Just look at the scout and navarro to figure what upgrades you wish to make. The basic shape of the buggies is more or less the same just upgraded strength points that the flexi team riders found they needed to make to their own bugs

The problem with bracing and strengthening a buggy is that you are then just going to load up the next weakest point.
The other option is to fit a Peter Lynn composite axle. I have been jumping with one for a couple of years now and they are bloody fantastic. On hard landing it just flexes then springs back straight, this takes out the jarring and saves your back too.
Touch wood, I haven't broken the axle yet or cracked a side rail since fitting it. I have never even heard of anyone breaking one.
Yes I know that the flexi side rails are smaller sized tubing, but you can simply get some plastic bushes made to suit. This season I purchased a new buggy, the Peter Lynn "F-Lynn Ultra Lite", which is made with undersized steel tubing and they have simply fitted these plastic bushes from factory.

@ Elfasa. My opinion is, if you are keen on jumping, go with the carbon axle over the composite. Both flex the same, but the carbon is about 0.5kg lighter and it makes a big difference to the weight of the buggy.
