Where we have ice, at least as of last Sunday, the edges are holding up amazing. Usually we're hunting for a place to get on the ice this time of
year but so far it's easy peasy.:singing:
It's warm this week and it's been raining like crazy so the inflow may change things considerably. Sattlelite images have been painting a stark
picture of where the real ice and the bad ice were this season. We've found the places that we were not too keen on during the mid winter, were as
sketch as we thought.
The season may or may not be over for us. We'll know by the weekend.;-)

You put together a nice video and you stretched the end of the season into some nice riding sessions.
The surface looked pretty good and I love seeing the spray of that granular snow/slush coming off the skis at speed.
I'll share this with a few others that don't get on the forums.

Thanks Mark. We've definately gotten a decent season this year. This is what I remember kite seasons being like, we just haven't had them like this
in the last 3 yrs. Last year was worst.
This year has been phenomenal. It's been a terrible season for speed but a great season for riding and just playing. I've spent as more time on twip
tips and fat skis than I did on the race skis. We've been able to ride places this season that we've only dreamed of before. The weather and
conditions just seemed to work out just right.
I like the spray as well. :D

Yep, love the spray! Gives an indication of speed. I also liked the flyby shots. I'll do some of those in the buggy next time I get to go fast.
I'm just getting the hang of video editing and now wonder why I thought it was so mysterious.
With my experience this past week with my 12m in higher winds, I am starting to "get" our differences. I found myself riding with the 12m PII last
week in winds around 30 mph. I was able to bump my 12m max speed to 58.4 mph. I found I could handle the running with the kite and enjoyed its power
but it would take over a quarter mile to get slowed down and turn. If I kept the kite low, my buggy would just continue to slide sideways and not
slow down. With the kite high, I had to balance the angle with my ability to stay on the ground. At times I would be wobbling from wheel to wheel
with only 1 or 2 on the ground at a time. This actually allowed me to turn the buggy slightly over time to gain an upwind edge which would allow me
to slow down.
I saw you run right up to the bushes on the bank and just side slide with the tips pointing downwind and you were stopped and heading the other
direction in an instant. This has me thinking further that a brake would enable us in the buggies to go faster and more powered if we had an enhanced
way to slow down at the end of the run. The PL Speed buggy has a brake and I'm sure it adds loads of confidence when running highly powered at high
speeds.
I studied your chicken loop for several minutes too. I see you are using a hand crafted leash. How long is it and where did you have it attached to
you? The leash that comes with the Nav bar is about 2 feet too long and too bulky to have all puddled up in my lap and seat. It was also a
revelation to see that you have your hook turned "upside down" (or is it?) and hook your chicken loop in the hoop instead of just under the hook.
I'll be spinning mine around pronto.
