That would be a pretty incredible deal. I have new ones in stock if you don't find what you are looking for.

I sold one of my older ones for $1200 with a 3m sail so its not out of the question to get a deal but they are rare. Not many of them around compared to buggies.

I would look up your local Blokart Dealer and see what he has. If you find a dealer with lower prices than the other dealers, they will more than likely loose there dealership as we all have a set price for this exact reason.
Now there are some good deals out there and I for one would be happy to give you the info to ask an owner if he wants to make a deal with you on the stuff he has. I make nothing unless you buy new from me in my area, unless I send you to a local dealer and he responds back to me for giving him the sale.

Not cool to pimp other dealer territories.

And for some simple info on Blokarts, If you are over weight and unable to touch your toes with out bending your knees a lot, buy a Manta. If you are looking for something to fit inside the car trunk, get a Blokart. The manta will need a truck or trailer.

the idea is to make it fare for all the dealers, and also to hold the dealers accountable for taking care of you the customer.
Buy a blokart on the east coast and you live on the west coast. now tell the guy you got it from that you have a problem.......guess who pays shipping? you know where its going.....
live in Seattle, buy from me. problems or what ever, I will stop by and take care of it. same for the other dealers...

Jeff,

I know the reasons behind having set pricing for products... I don't have to agree with them all.

Yes, purchasing from your local dealer should always mean great service. Unfortunately, there are not enough local dealers so the market can get cutthroat without agreements in place.

All you have to do is look, theres a guy in Vancouver, Seattle, and Portland. I would be happy to hook anyone up with a local dealer.
I have had poeple call me from the east coast and I sent them to a dealer 8 miles from where they were calling from. They saved over 60 bucks and had it that day.
If nothing else, any dealer can have the item dropshipped to you if its not in stock.
Any kite dealer or kite company do that for you?

(In my opinion) You sold your used one for way to little. MSRP on a new Blokart comp with 3m sail and fiberglass mast is $2481.00

Unless the yacht was brutally abused, it should easily be worth in the $1900+ range.

Either way, your best bet for a used one would be to check the NALSA website. www.nalsa.org. They have a wanted section where sailors are often listed for sale.

Also, Blokart does not do price fixing, that of course is illegal. They do however encourage MAP pricing on their products (Minimum Advertised Pricing) which encourages honest advertised pricing without misleading customers with low-ball pricing gimmicks. Your local dealer will be able to give you the best price available and set you up with the exact options you are looking for. And as Jeff has mentioned, would be the best to give you continued support after the sale.

Consider a demo model that a local dealer has on hand if you want to save some money.
I was referred to a local dealer which I didn't know existed. He has a couple of demos he is willing to deal on, and I am considering one of them.
You probably have noted that these things tend to get a bit pricey when you start adding on the extras, but they offer a degree of portability and ease of storage and transport that is hard to beat.
Also, depending on where you sail, you may be able to use the Blokart in areas where the long kite lines associated with a buggy would be an issue.
I would probably have my Blokart by now but for the dealers day job has him working odd days and hours and we just haven't been able to hook up for the final trials and decision.
WORD OF CAUTION: Visit the Blokart sites and watch the instructional videos on YouTube so you will know if the wind direction and velocity and safety precautions/equipment the dealer tries to get you to work with are appropriate, and then INSIST on adhering to what you believe is safe.
I am nursing an ankle injury that would have sent a smart person to the doctor as a result of my first go at a Blokart. Just because an experienced person can get away with operating outside the lines doesn't necessarily mean that you will be so fortunate.

Bob, sorry you were hurt. One of the things I do with a newbie is go with them and help them figure it out. Most of the guys who buggy have the basics and only need a bit of do this..., dont do this.... Other than that, the loud Whoo Hooo is more than enough to tell they figured it out.:D
The last person who got a blokart was the wife of one of us here on the forum. She was having a bit of trouble understanding until I pushed her out on the playa and physically showed her what to do.
I heard she is the owner of the speed record now. hehehehe
Your right about the demo thing, and some have a few other deals. I have a model thats brand new still in the box, it is 2 years old and the price is a good deal(the left overs of a guy who got out of the business).

What about the "wind chaser" is that one any good? It looks kinda "fisher price" but if it works, and is safe, they certainly seem very affordable...

I was able to play with a wind chaser last year but was not impressed. I have a blokart and i would not trade it for 3 of the chasers
I like safety and stability and if you want them you need the blokart. The extra money will be well spent rather than paying Dr. bill or worse.
If you are even looking at the chaser then you should just find someone to make your buggy a zooter! Same thing with a better ride.
Only My 2 cents

I ended up buying a demo Blokart Pro model (all stainless) from a local dealer with the 4.0 and 5.5 meter sails, combo mast, the Shadow (sidecar) kit, disc brake , sand brake, mast protectors, Bigfoot front end, ratchet block and Windicator.
That's all so far, but there is more available, so. I'll probably get it!
Nice ride, these things, IF you fasten your seat belt! :-)
Seriously though, the dealer and I got out on Cocoa Beach in 12-15 mph winds. Nice run about a mile south and two miles north from the launch point.
Lots of folks say you don't need brakes on sand, but when I get around those darned unpredictable little kids, I use mine a LOT!
