Alvord meet up October...
i know there are a couple of threads about Alvord but one of them kinda stumbled in and out and in into an Alvord meet up
So, let's make a proper Alvord meet up thread shall we?
has anybody come up with a hard time frame?
if not i propose sometime between or near enough to Sept 28-Oct 5.
*(i had better check my work calender to see if i can get some time cuz i'll need it. it's a 19 hour drive one way.)

I think Bobby had a hard date requested, he will have to remind us what it was.
I am flexible, and I think the landsailers show up that week. but I do think that we have a little better chance of good wind a little further into
October, the wind gets better when the temps start coming down. something to think about.

No hard date for me yet. There will be things that work for me and against me that haven't developed enough yet to pin down a weekend for me. I hope
my weekend ends up being "the" weekend so I can ride with the crowd.

yep!!!
i posted those dates cuz i got them from Dave Gluek US226(2013 Sportsman class winner Americas Landsailing Cup). the landsailers are showing at that
time.
at 19 hours one way i want to get the most bang from my time as possible.
i came from kite-buggying but i'm pretty stoked about landsailing right now (especially after being at Ivanpah).
i want to meet as many of you PKF guys as I can and also meet the landsailer crew to get some insight sailing tips and all that good stuff as i should
have a cool new(used) high performance boat by then.

Well the original plan that Sean and I were working on for an organized gathering was for the 2nd or 3rd week of October, but that is flexible. We do
need to come up with a consensus as to who would be interested in going and what days would work best for most people. I wanted to call It ABE for
Alvord buggy expo. T-shirts, stickers, daily challenges, the whole 9 yards. We have put together suggested equipment lists for those who would be
camping vs. rv'ing it, though I do need to make a couple more phone calls about that. The plan would be to have it be NAPKA event, so there would be
2 different event fees that would offset the cost of the permit, t-shirts and stickers, and some food. Last I talked to Sean he thought that
providing dinner would be a good idea, especially since Fields Station stops cooking at 4 and closes at 5. These are all things that are all subject
to discussion. The second fee would be for people who are not NAPKA members and would get them a one year napka membership right on the spot. As for
as the event being napka sanctioned, it only really means 3 things-helmets, number plates, and you have to be a member. I'll start a new ABE thread
so we can open things up for discussion, the first thing obviously being the need to firm up dates so that people can get the time off scheduled.
Aim low. Reach your goals, and avoid disappointment.

I'm also flexible for when. I would also think that the 2nd or 3rd weekend would probably be the best chance for better conditions. But whichever
works best for the biggest majority.
