Seat protection
OK. So my quest for buggy knowledge continues....
Just wondering what you guys are using to protect the underside of your buggy seats? Any homebrew skid plates? I've seen a few things on the web,
thin plastic sheeting, etc. I will be doing 50/50 field and beach riding. Not much clearance under the seat as we know. Just want to minimize cuts,
etc. on the seat underside material from field and beach debris.
I've got the XR Peter Lynn seat.
Thanks for any tips or suggestions

nothing under my buggies,but the KYTBYK has apolic side plates and butt gaurd. Apolic is poly sandwiched between 2 pieces of aluminum sheet metal.
Used in building construction, to make facades.

I used heavy vial plastic sheeting I found in a dumpster on a construction site. It seems to be about 20-25 mils thick. Rather sturdy stuff.

Damn ! I've got a belly pan on my flexi bug, its abut 3mm thick and does the job fine.

I haven't used a belly pan on my buggies but have thought about it a bit. I think there are patterns/plans for belly pans on the web somewhere. I
think most people use 1/8" hdpe but I can't remember for sure.
Dark Sky Kites makes belly pans for some of the production buggys....

20-25 mils = .510 - .635 millimeters

I've used this for other rub strip applications, not on a buggy, but this stuff is TOUGH, stiff but flexible, and cheap.
Just thinking outside the box for a seat skid plate or splash guards.
