Cinco de Mayo 2013
Due to scheduling conflicts for the usual crew, Cinco de Mayo will be "Dieciocho de Mayo" (May 18th weekend). Meet up will be @ Surfside Beach East end, see picture.. near where what was called "Stonehenge" If you think you can make it, u2u for phone number and can give you more info.

I will bring a 12 x 12 canopy, BBQ pit, some meat to cook, propane stove for beans, ice water.

I will be there. Please respond if you are coming. VTT (van) and Herb (treblehook) will be sponsoring the food and drinks. Let us know so we can get a good head count.

Since this is not DBBB , could we have a forum section called LBBB ? Live Bird Buggy Bash .. lots of seagulls we can catch and cook :evil:

Maybe we should post a link of this thread to the oringal one in the "meet up" section so more people will know. For one, I normally don't check this section very often...

...and I'm still wondering why do we always meet up around the #6 entrance...what's wrong with 1, 2 or 3?

I'm sorry but I won't be able to make it. My family has a trip scheduled for Orlando on that day and we will stay there for the next two weeks.

Couple questions....I would really like to come but....

Where is everyone staying....hotel? I guess camping is available?

I have a three month old....Are small kids acceptable? He is kind of along for the ride at this point....he survived Moto GP in Austin so I think he is up to it if that does not bother anyone else. Input??

BTW...I cook almost every week end for our friends so I would just need to know what to bring to chip in.

Most of us are local to houston so we will be driving down with our buggies. I got a one year old so she is learning to walk .. she will be crawling all over the beach.

Some of us will be camping and also young and old are welcome.

There is lodging in Galveston,30 min drive to the east.
Camping on the beach is primitive,no water no rr. I will have a 12x12 canopy that you can park the young one under.
Cooking: i will bring a BBQ pit to cook fajitas on. If you would like to bring rice and re-fried beans, that would be cool. Van and l will be bringing the beef and chicken,cheese,pico,tortillas,salsa,etc
Just come and hang out and buggy ,good time to be had by all :D

There will be those who camp and sit around the campfire.
Others stay at hotels.

Clute Tx has a good assortment of major hotel chains and is not far at all. Galveston is a lot farther away in comparison, but still within a hour drive. There are some hotels in Surfside Tx that are minutes away as well. (Clute is about 15 minutes, surfside is 5, and Galveston is 45).

I'm only making a day trip from my house... but there is everything from camping to high end resorts within an hour drive...

I've never looked into the Perrigrine Condo's... but if that was in your budget, you could buggy to where everyone camps.

Only being Tuesday, was hoping the wind prediction stays spot on.
If so should make for a perfect weekend.

I will be down there saturday morning. So is entrance #6 good for everyone as a meeting spot?? I will have my big white tent up. I am hoping to be there before 10am , depending on when I can get the wife and gets up and going.

Anyone else camping?

winds look ideal for most of the weekend... onshore and mid-high teens... good for the buggies... i went surfing two days ago and the water is awesome... no need for a suit here ...

ill definitely be coming down sunday morning... maybe saturday night if i get to really jonesin...

if there is anything you guys need me to bring down, feel free to call me or text or whatever... van has my number, and im pretty sure steve (centex buggier) does too...

in any case, i look forward to some good beach time on sunday ...
