Mood: happy when buggying

[*] posted on 26-9-2006 at 07:27 PM

I feel the same way. I am already talking about driving out to the event next year. I sure hope that I can make it next year. Right now I am busy with the planning of dead bird. So if any of yall have nothing better to do on Thanksgiving come and join us in Galveston and buggy in the sand.

I'm there for sure, already booking the time off work and such, it'll be a road trip to remember for us, 25hr drive each way. Hopefully I'll have a vanload of people with me this time as well.

Count a couple from BC in on the trip.

Mood: Who Moo-ed?

Geez...
I don't know what all the excitement is about.

It's just a desert dry lake.
Covered with kites and buggies and friends.

Been there... Done that.

Here's a new idea...
Dave Ruster and I are tossing around the idea of a catered pre-event safari.
Dave and I recently acquired full-sized Ford Vans capable of hauling our trailers.
Dave's Dad would like to come along and be our camp-manager and cook for us.
We have room for 6 clients.
We can haul all the buggies and kites.
Dave has a canvas wall tent big enough for 6.

We would plan to hit as many of the Lake Challenge spots as conditions permit.
The Safari would set off on Friday and return to nabx on Monday or Tuesday.
Transportation and meals (breakfast & dinner every day, mid-day snacks) included.

Clients would need only a sleeping bag & pad, kite/buggy gear and any personal items.

Cost would be in the $100/day range.

I'd like some feedback on this idea and if it is worth pursuing.
Any interest?

Wish we knew the official dates, I'd like to know if it coincides with my spring break (first week of April). It never has, so I do the pre-event and come out Wednesday afterwork.

Looking forward to losing some rubber off my tires!

We are most definitely looking forward to the NABX event this year and plan to participate in the entire pre-event as well this time around since there will be some time between the Ozone Snowkite Masters in Utah and NABX allowing me to go home and drop off some snow toys and pickup the buggys. I think they call this an addiction.
