Check out the beginner guides on the forum. They are really good!
Standard advice is get a 3-4m Fixed Bridle kite and learn to fly then move up to buggy or board or water or all 3 :D
you can find your own style and pereferences as you gain experience. Personal preference/style has a lot to do with kiting some peoples dream kites
are other peoples nightmares!. All the main brands equipment is good these days so try as many as you can and stick with what you like. The forum is a
great place to get ideas for kites to try and get other opinions
15m Naish Fly,12m & 7.5m Naish Cults, 10m & 12m Naish Parks, 9m Naish Bolt, 6m & 14m Naish X3's, 13m PL Venom, 10m & 6m Ozone

Are you interested in land or water?
Storage/Transport issues: Are you in a dorm? If so then you should think about mountainboards over buggies just for ease of transport and storage.
For depowers, each kite packs down to a day pack size and you might end up with 2 or 3. Bridled depower like a Frenzy or Access take up a little
less space than a Peter Lynn ARC. Inflatable kites take up a little more space than Peter Lynn.
Range of use: ARCs and Inflatables can be used for land or water. Flysurfers too but $$$.
Ease of learning & set up issues: Bridled depower like Frenzy/Access/Apex are really easy to launch but only good for land and snow. If you have
friends that kite, ask their opinion and consider using what they use so they can easily help out.
I love Nahant but rarely get there anymore.
Skis, skates, coyotes, buggy, Beamer 1.8, Apex 3III,'Flow 3 & 5, Peak1 6 & 9, Venom1 10 & 12. Wings Wings Wings.
